I want to know how high up on your neck some of you guys tie your hair. Because of my mistake in shaving my neck (see Charles Bottoms)it seems like I have to tie my hair a lot higher than I should have to. How long will it take my nape hairline to get fixed?
Not really an answer to your question, but it shouldn't matter if your hair is long enough to tie back at any position. My hair's about 12 inches long at the moment, but I absolutely refuse to tie it back until I can tie it at about 17 inches down, and even then it will only be for work and times I need it out of the way (gardening, etc).

I dont think the hair you shave off your neck should make much of a difference in your ponytail height unless you shaved right up like an undercut or something. everybody has longer or shorter necks so there is no set height really, the very bottom of your hairline on the back of your neck is where i ussually make a ponytail but just because its the most comfortable and low-maintenance option, looks fine too
