Been a long, long time since I posted here, but I finally have long hair. I also have what my brother in law calls a loose curl. I achieved 1 goal of being able to tie all of my hair back, but a new problem has shown up. Now my pony tail curls right up, into spiral curls. Which I hate. Doing it wet gives me steven seagal look, and I don't want that. Dry its poofy...like a big ball. All I want is a pony tail that kind of arcs out like in desperdo. Any ideas?
I will say this, looking back it didn't take a lot of time to grow it out, and I do have curly hair. So those struggling with trying to grow curly hair out, its a pain in the ass, but it can be done. And its worth it.
Work some alcohol free gel all through your hair when it's wet. Put it into a braid and let it air dry. When it's dry, take out the braid and put it into a tail. Do not brush it when it's dry as that just makes it poofy. I've got curly hair (mid back when dry, waist length when wet) and this works great for me.
