I'm doing it, I don't care what anyone says! I'm growing my freakin hair long! Anyway, prior attempts at it I've given up during the awkward stage. This time though, I'm gonna have to come here and get that support to stick with it. You better not let me go near those clippers! :) Check out my site if you'd like. I'm gonna be putting progress pics up there every month. Look forward to posting here.

is that a peanutbutter & jelly sandwich dude
Hey Dave-
Most likely in the past you were not really ready to go through with letting your hair grow. (That will only come when YOU are absolutely ready and NOTHING will change your mind.) Please don't "beat- yourself up" for the past decisions. I dare say when it is time........you will know it for sure and nothing will stand in your way from achieving your goal. You can actually make the "Awkward Stage" a rather "fun" period as the transformation takes place to being a true long hair. (Just "invent" all kinds of styles as you go through it..............or just go through it knowing that the rewards at the end may very well be awesume.) One thing for sure.......if you fizzle-out this time, it is most probably due to the fact that in your heart you were not cut-out to be a Longhair. There is NO SHAME in that. The "shame" is when an individual cannot express himself and just be himself because that individual is intimated by family or Society. (This os ONLY my opinion.......but your facial features looked-at through the eyes of an artist detect 100% success and an astonishing "new-look" if you make it to a Longhair. I wish you the best of luck.
Don't know if your journey will be a long one
or a short one...
an easy one of a difficult one but...
Best wishes! And keep us posted.
ps: Yes, it looks like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.
Correct. Peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Mmmmmmm that was a damn good sandwich.
Good luck and I'll be following your progress pics, you will be a "different person" when you reach your goal, I mean looking even greater than now :-))
Excellent man. Go for it. Awesome to see another Alice In Chains/Jerry Cantrell fan beginning the 'journey'. Try and make it through the 'awkward' stage. It's definately worth it. I've been growing for about three years and started with the same length as you and it got down to below my pecks (not that I really have any, but anyway...)
My advice: Don't give up and don't forget to have little trims along the way (by a professional). Don't do what I did (have no trims) or you'll end up with a load of frayed, split and messy ends. The hair becomes weak and I didn't like the way it looked.
