I just saw an advertisment for an Acura sedan. A formally dressed young man with blond hair tied back in a ponytail playing with a sting ensemble at the beginning of the commercial. The narrator talks about the "finer things in life" as he puts his violin away. You then see him get in the Acura with his violin case and drive off.
I was quite suprised to see this, considering this particular car is targeted at the stuffy lawyer type crowd. A crowd that is much higher in age and typically eschew long hair or other radical, out-of-norm style.
Heh. I remember seeing that commercial a while ago, and being like "Damn, I look like that guy!."
Nice music he was playing.
On German tv comericials I see more men with longer hair not really long but at least shoulder length.
Today I even saw on tv in the regular news a police man with hair in a pony tail down to his back WOW!!! I always thought in this job men must have short hair. Its starting to get more common!!
what a narrow minded comment about lawyers and a car. Acura is promoting a statement of class, as is classical music. The length of ones hair does not denote age or acceptance. I know many long haired law students, lawyers and musicians. One does not have to be a starving artist to appreciate nice things or vice versa. Perhaps I misinterpreted what you were trying to say.
