I read somewhere that it takes a maximum of six years for hair to reach terminal length...is this true?
I've been growing for two years and three months, my hair is 1 inch past shoulders, so I figure that to wait another four years will probably be worth it. It's just I am very impatient and like probably everyone here I want my hair "long, NOW!" I need to know how long it'll take.
Thanks.
Most people have terminal periods between 2 and 6 years. Some unfortunate folks have shorter lengths and a few lucky ones can grow hair for many years. Overall, it's basically true what you asked.
HI
I think we all are impatient when it comes to having our hair reach the goal we have decided upon which we desire. (1" growth seems to be the "average per month" for the majority.)
Alas, "all hair" is different for ea. individual. Terminal for some could mean the floor. For others it could mean only inches. Genetics (and or age) I believe to be the prime factor here.
Whatever that article is you read I believe has left-out some factors.
However, I certainly do hope you will reach your goal! Good Luck.
Hair grows on average at a rate of 6 inches a year. Growing long hair is a test of patience.
Good luck!
