ok i am growing my hair out but have became bored with it and it looks to preppie so i decided i want to shave my head and i figure i will miss my hair and begin growing it fresh. my parents keep making me get trims and disaprove of long hiar and when i told them i wanted to shave it they said NO im not in a gang or a skinhead so i cant.... everyone w/ a shaved head isnt in a gang right??

my parents are like that. dont let them pressure you. my parents pressure me too. but i decided to get good grades so that they cant say anything to me. if they, i got a lot of good comebacks. and right now my grades are really high, better than i expected.

I've spoken to A LOT of balding men, and I know that they shave their hair off because generally looks stupid with it long and balding.

well im not bored growing my hair but im bored with my hair lengh because when it gets this long my parents make me get it cut and thats been going on for lik 2 years....but not anymore
Well, it sounds like your current living situation won't allow for anything more at this time which is probably why you picked the other extreme to present to your parents. When I first started growing I had the same thought run through my head (though briefly). Sometimes guys have to wait a few more years until they are in true control of making all of their own decisions.

As long as you're living under their roof, though, I don't know what you could do about it...try to convince them to stop 'forcing' haircuts upon you.
ok i decided that im not shaving i..apon further descussion woth my dad after aking that post he told me if i really wanted to grow my hair than he wont stop me...but i can't shave it lol

What can they do after you shave it if thats what you want to do? They cant make it grow back. Do you have a say when they take you to the barber?
all i can say is do what you want, its your image and do whatever you feel is right for you, not them. I ignored everyones advice when I started shaving my head about a year ago, and then everyone told me how much they loved it (and they actually meant it!). Im not in a gang nor considered a 'skinhead' in the 'nazi' sense.
but yeah i think you'd regret cutting it all off, my advice; keep growing it. you're just going through an awkward stage.
