Over two years ago, when I decided to let my hair grow out,
I had NO IDEA of the length I wanted.
At first it was chin level. Then it was shoulder length.
But when I finally reached THAT goal, I wanted it LONGer still!
And now I can't even bring myself to having it cut or trimmed yet.
(With NO split ends or damage, I have no reason to.)
I do not know what my terminal length is as I've never grown my hair this long before.
So WHEN will this 'quest' end? Or will it?
At THIS TIME I have no idea of what my goal is, or of just
HOW LONG I want my hair.
Do any of you have any 'ideas' of how LONG you want YOUR HAIR to go?
(And don't be surprised if those goals keep changing!)
Like many members of this board, my ultimate hair length was decided by my parents - my hair reached it's terminal length of 18 inches as dictated by my genes!
I'll never go past waist length. Even at waist, I think it's a bit long. I prefer mid-back myself, and keep it between mid-back and waist. I don't go past the waist anymore though.
Mine is to grow to "Terminal" even if that means reaching the floor!
Don't blame you a bit for not wanting anything done to your hair. I sure "hear-you" on that one.
My goal is 'shoulder length, I don't think i'd want it any longer personally
I'm aiming at shoulder length, but I'll probably grow it longer, long enough maybe to wrap it around my neck like a scarf:)
Originally I was aiming for mid back, but with some encouragement from my girlfriend (we started dating the same month as I stopped cutting my hair) I've decided to shoot for terminal. Heck, mid back may BE terminal for me, who knows.
That "Ball" Guy
Sleek and waistlength.
When I started growing my hair in the 60s I had no idea how
long i wanted it, by the time I decided on waist length it
was the 70s. There was a time when I tried longer but waist
length was my ideal choice.
My hair reached terminal length before it got as long as I wanted, so in my case the decision has been made for me. Only good thing about that is that means I never need to get it trimmed or cut ever again. It'll be ten years in June, and it stopped growing about four years ago.
I was actually thinking about this last night.
My Goal has always been shoulder blades at the back and keeping my bangs just long enough to reach a tail. It occured to me last night that now my bangs are almost to my chin and the back is to my collar, with some of the lower layers falling to my shoulders, that I'm almost there. Within a couple of months my bangs with be long enough and by the end of the summer the back will be to my shoulder blades
The thing is, I've been growing my hair for just over a year and I'm having so much fun doing it, I dont think I'll want to stop. I guess you take it as it comes and see what feels right at the time.
I had almost waist lenghth, but the it was different lenghts. The middle was longer than the rest of it. When I washed it and combed it, it would always get tangled in the front. The front had split ends. I recently cut it to mid back and I am happy. It is still long, but not to long. It feels softer and no tangles too. It also weighs a lot less.
