I've been growing my hair for a few months now, and it's about maybe 7 inches at the top. For a while when I started growing it, I still regulalry shook it about violently, and gave it a rought toweling after shampooing 2 or more times a day. I soon found that is bad, hehe, but due to laziness i've still been using a factory plastic comb when it's wet, and often brushing it when it's at least or more than a bit damp. Now i'm brushing out all sorts of strands that look like a ribbon curled with scissors, have I pretty much destroyed my hair doing this, or can it get better?
We all have different hair, so I can't say without actually seeing it.
I towel dry my hair. I always comb it when wet. It's not a problem for me. In fact, my hair is better combed wet than dry.
It all depends on your hair. Keep in mind though that the more gentle you are the better the likelihood of good looking, healthy hair.
Maybe you just have wavy hair like me. I just found out I had wavy hair when it got passed my neck (in the back), no signs of it before then. now it's about mid back and wavy all the way, I actually like it.
Do you have coarse hair? It seems that coarse hair does this naturally more than fine hair.
I think I take pretty good care of my hair, but since its so course, strands inevitably become like this
