Hello,
I have 1/4 inch (1 cm) of hair along the hairline which just stays short. On the sides, this extends to 1 inch (2.5 cm) where the hair never grows longer than 2 inches (5 cm). However I don't have a receding hairline as such- it's not falling out, it's been like that since I was a kid, only it's more noticable now that my hair is long (3 inches/ 8 cm below shoulders). Does anyone know why this is and how to handle it? I mean, it just looks dumb.
Thanks,
Amon-Ra
This is very common, especially around the nape of the neck. Usually, the hairline doesn't simply suddenly start. There is a small fringe that is shorter. My sideburns don't grow more than about 2 inches, but my beard below my chin grows over a foot long. Most of my soulpatch grows only about an inch. On my forehead, there's a narrow band of transition from peach fuzz to long hair, although the transition here is much more pronounced than at the nape of my neck.
What's a soulpatch ??
It's the patch of hair just below the bottom lip and above the chin.
A soul patch, or an "imperial".
Also called a "mouche", which is French for a fly...he..he...
Glad it's not just me then. I just hadn't noticed it on anyone else before.
