I would like to start setting my hair at home, but feel overwhelmed by all the techniques and different types of equipment available. For example should I use heated rollers, or do a wet-set, or even maybe use rags. There even seems to be different types of rollers for heated sets (e.g. wax and steam) and wet-sets, (e.g.velcro or magnetic and what about the Clairol type twist and snap-shut rollers).
Should I use a setting lotion (recommendations please) or mousse. Must I use a hood dryer or can I blow dry it with the rollers in, or is it best if I leave it to dry naturally. What is it like sleeping with rollers in.
Any tips for combing out would also be helpful.
I would be really grateful if anyone can offer advice on the questions above. By the way I have just above shoulder length hair which is layered and pretty straight.
Sorry, I posted my message before I had noticed this was a mens only site - my attention was caught by the wet-set discussions, but perhaps I should have twigged when it all referred to men. Still if anyone on this site, male or female has any advice, I would be grateful. I have looked through the site a bit more now and it is full of good ideas, even for girls with long hair and there are none of the 'get your haircut ' brigade here either.
No problem. My I suggest a companion site? http://the-light.com/products/wwwboard.html was designed for your type of message. It has not gotten the attention I would have liked thus far, but I expect it to down the road.
