Ok, my hair is cut into a "layered" style where the bangs go to my chin and the rest is longer. I usually wear it down, but if i do try to do a pony-tail the bangs don't reach and fall in my face. If I'm doing something which requires my hair to be back I just wear a hat, which has been working great. But in the coming weeks I'm going to be in some business meetings, I'm talking suit-and-tie affairs. Wearing my hair down doesn't really look professional, and wearing a hat is obviously out. I can do a half-tail, but again my bangs fall down and it looks unprofessional. I'm thinking of using bobby-pins to keep it back, but I'm afraid it might be too girly. Can anyone offer advice?
Gel and standard low pony tail.

The page from Gollan will also actually show how to wear bandannas, but for me I feel, that is nothing for very commercial affairs/business like banking. not there it will not work. Only Gel and a normal tail
A style that worked for me was to do first a half tail, to get all the bangs out of the way, then use the hair not in the half tail to make another tail, but gather the tail part of the half tail to it, so it looks like a double banded tail.

I went through the same questions and concluded that there is nothing 'girly' about a brown or black bobby pin. I wore them during my awkward stage and had no problems. I'll bet no one even noticed. The next time you are at the mall take a close look at the women wearing ponytails. Many of them use bobby pins and clips to keep their bangs in place. The only ones we notice are the bright, girly, decorative pins. As you will see if you look carefully the vast majority of bobby pins are hair-colored and blend in with the hairstyle. Male or female, bobby pins will blend in with your hair. Good luck with your hair growing goals!
Yes fully agree. Bobby pins will work if they are black or in your hair colour. Also try to slick it back. but be carefull, you must take a certain portion of gel/wax/ our mousse. Otherwise the hair might be go up during a meeting and you will have a part of you bangs in your face and the other is still there where you want it to be.( ;-)

I don't know what he used...guessing gel/mousse. It looks sharp and professional. Just slick that hair back, and you can wash it out for the "casual" after work stuff.
The long bang hairstyles always look so good on men.
I don't care for that uneven look on women.
Although I like wearing my hair down much of the time, I can well remember when the bangs couldn't reach the back and simply used Bobbie Pins which was no big deal to myself. They can hardly be noticed..........especially the type I had. And no, I doubt very much you will look like a girl.
Try the Double Tail...
Gather the upper layers (above temples) and tie in a tail at the crown. With Chin length bangs this should be no problem.
Then pull back the rest of the hair, either all of it, or just the layers above the ears (as in a regular half tail) and tie in a lower tail at the back.
You can either include the upper tail with the lower tail or keep them seperate.
I included a picture below, not the best angle and my hair wasn't really long enough when I took this photo, but you get the idea. Trust me it works well and its never cost me a business deal.

I suggest you groom it really neatly and leave it free, but just try to keep it all behind your head, like a swept back shiny look.
I think I'll try and find some bobby pins that match my hair color, sounds like a good idea.
