You're not thinking about getting one, are you?
While I know this may be a can of worms I'm opening, a lot of people argue against the undercut saying you'll regret it. And I tend to agree.
Your hair is going to be two different lengths, and trying to grow the undercut is nearly impossible without cutting the rest.
Just make sure you want one before getting one.

I certainly hope you aren't thinking of undercutting your hair which has survived the awkward phase and is already awesome at one-length...

This is also a rather extreme undercut.
The question of undercutiing is really diffcult. On the one side it is a way to clean up the neck with it. (So I really like it when longhaired men have a very decent undercut with only a few mm/ to 1/4 inch undercut around the neckline up to the middle of the ears/backside) The other more difficult question is that, to have it clean, you must go to a barber/hairdresser mimimum each 6 week to clean it up. otherwise it will look bad. And to clipp it short yourself it will not work, because it is a difficult job, also with 3 mirrors.
So, as for an extrem undercut, with an inch undercut back/sides this is maybe only someting for punks or so, but not for real longhair lovers like us.
You must really make the desission if you want to undercut, because it will the first step to cut long hair short, And this cannot be the reason, or?
im only 15 i have an undercut its good cuz in the winter its warm and the summer u get a nice breeze underneath
