I was wondering, if hair grows from the root and not the tip, then how do all the little curls and kinks in wavy hair (which often grows straight, near the root), manage to stay in the same place as the hair grows?!?!?!
You are correct: Hair grows from the roots.
Trees grow from the tips. And I used to think grass
grew from the tips but when you cut it
it keeps on growing so it is from the roots.
The hair closest to the root probably LOOKS straight
but as it grows away from the scalp, its curly
nature is revealed.
Anyway, if everyone just realized that hair is DEAD
then they could easily remember that it MUST be growing from the ROOTS!
It's too bad hair IS dead. Otherwise, we'd have a great explanation for the "awkward stage".
hehehe
And there would be more longhairs - cos if hair was made up of living cells it would hurt like hell to cut it! ;-)
Good point!
LOL!
haha yes i know that, but that still does not explain how the few little kinks and curls manage to always stay in the same place (i.e. not go down), as the hair grows.
