I decided not to put these on the hyperboard and to just post them here. It usually curls more than this; it's weighed down from the oil treament, and it's rainy today which causes my hair to do strange things...it's either super curly or it lays flatter with lots of "fly-aways." It's a fly-away day today. hehehe
Here's my "favorite little curly-Q" Right at the base of my head, and twists in a tight little curl all the way down. You can sorta see the heart shape thing my hair does at the front, except the other side is doing better than usual today. (see, even women have trouble hair!)
And another of my favorite little curl:
Here's the bottom:
And here's the side, which is about 6" shorter than the back. I have a combination of long hair (back) and awkward stage hair (sides).
Here's another of the side:
Here's the whole thing, all together (why do I now feel like a scientific experiment? LOL):
Hope my html works! :-P
I didn't intentionally wear the same shirt for the pics. LOL
I just happen to take pics of myself on tank cleaning days. My motorhead T is sleaveless, which means I don't get quite as soaked while doing my "waterly duties."
The "no edit" really keeps us on our best HTML behavior! Sherri you have very healthy hair. Nice curls too. After seeing your results I'm going to get serious about oil treatments. Are you growing it longer or keeping it the same length while the other color grows out? Thanks for the update!
I see no reason to edit. Everyone complains about their hair. Everyone has fly-aways, no one's hair lays perfect...unless it's been tended to in one way or another. Some days it looks better and behaves, some days it becomes possessed and goes every which way that it isn't supposed to. Hair is like a child; it will never behave when you want it to.
I do normally take a large round brush and blow drier to it, after combing out all the tangles. That straightens it as it looks in the pics I posted on the hyperboard pics page. It gets a frizzy look to the blonde/white area when I do that also. It doesn't look entirely straight. Doesn't look natural, but oh well. It's easier to deal with.
I only plan to trim it around every 6 months, about .5-1", just to even the back until it's straight. After that, as I see split ends that I can't manage myself. Maybe a dusting every 6 months to a year. It will reach terminal length. The longest I ever had it was when I was 13; it was at upper thigh and didn't seem to be stopping any time soon.
I also don't lose the amount of hair that is normally lost. I may lose up to 100 hairs a day during stress, but my norm is maybe 20. My hair also grows at a bit over .5" per month. I'm blessed.
My hair is NOT healthy at the point where it's blonde/white. I HAVE to condition and add leave in conditioner to get a wide tooth comb through it. It is very damaged and course. My normal hair is very healthy, and doesn't seem to need conditioner, and definitely no leave in. It makes it look greasy.
I'll be happy to be rid of the white/blonde, but I will not sacrifice the growth.
I'd like to add my vote for your natural hair color. Your natural color is great. Here's hoping you never dye it blonde again.
I mentioned "editing" in response to your wish "Hope my html works!". This message board is unforgiving when we make a mistake either a typo or a broken link. Sorry for being confusing.
Well, looking at the mess my hair was in was what caused my confusion. LOL
Thanks for posting these pictures :-) I've been looking forward to seeing them since you mentioned it a couple days ago. By the way, I really like your natural color :-)

Your natural curl is awesome I do like the blond colour best but then im blond too. Thanx for the post your hair looks great

I love the blonde/white color too. I had it for 8 years, but the damage just doesn't seem to be worth it any more. I've been growing it out for 1 year and 5 months now. I'll never go back.
Looks great! :-)
Thank you for sharing the photos of such great long hair.
Such a beautiful natural colour! The waves and curls make me jealous too. It's fun to see the blond hair gradually being pushed to the extremities as your hair gets longer :)
Never liked my natural hair color, or the curls...but it's "beginning to grow on me." :-P
Sorry, but must say....lookin' bad, real bad....and damaged too.
You may have to get it all stripped, conditioned or just cut back.
Do something today....you must be scaring small children.
Thank you so much for pointing out the obvious! (DUH)
The damage was caused by 8 years of peroxide. If there was no damage my hair would all be blonde/white...because I'd still be dying it. I stopped dying it because of the damage, not because I don't like the color.
I would not have it "stripped" and will not have the blonde/white dyed to "match the natural color." That would be doing the same thing that I've decided not to do anymore = cause damage to my hair. I've given up my dye bottle addiction.
I condition with each washing, and put in leave in conditioner afterward. It's the only way I can get a comb through it. I deep condition once a week and give it an oil treatment monthly also.
I will not cut off all the dyed hair either. I don't care how many people run screaming at the sight of me, or how many people make rude comments...although yours would be the first.
It took 8 years of dying to get my hair into this mess, and it may take 8 years to be rid of it. It's my hair and I'll deal with it, slowly. Trims to this hair will only happen once every 6 months at the most, and only remove 1/2-1" at a time.
I can live with the "2 tone" look and the damage. I would be suicidal if I lost that much length in one sitting.
I also wouldn't be as nice in my reply if we were face to face instead of posting on Victor's board.
Your hair looks much better with curls. Then again, I have a thing for curls, so I'm rather biased.
hehe
I agree that you keep your natural colour, it looks great. Incidentally, had you cut the sides to be much shorter than the back or is that how it grows?
Yes, I was cutting the fronts and sides until about 3-4 years ago. After I stopped cutting I began to notice the damage that I was inflicting on my hair by dying it.
