Hi
I'm growing my hair out for about 1year and a half now , and since
last week I notice that when combing my hair in the morning I loose
some hairs which is normal. But looking closer at these hairs I
see always (or mostly always) a small 'bubble' at one side.
I looks like it has brooken or pulled of from the root itself.
Is this normal ? And how many hairs can one loose a day ?
Any comment appreciated !
Ronny
I used to wonder about that "bubble" myself. My partner claimed it meant the follicle was dead. :(
However, I found a web page by Clairol on hair structure (http://www.clairol.com/carestyle/carestyle.html - see "Anatomy of a Strand") which said this:
"If you've ever noticed a little bulbous substance at the root of your hair when you've pulled it out, that's a hair bulb. It's responsible for excreting an oil-like substance that helps lubricate the hair shaft."
So I guess it's normal.
Also, supposedly it's normal to lose up to 100 hairs per day.
