Hi to all ,
I wondered if somebody has ideas or seen something which you
could attach to a hair tie. I read something about a small
rubber ball which could be attached to a hair tie (?)
I'm just asking this , to break out of this 'ordinary' (sorry for
this) ponytail , and maybe to 'show-off' more than the common
hair tie.
All suggestions are welcome !
Longhair greetings to all !

Ronny, check out Hair Boutiques marketplace and the special mens hairtie sets made of sterling silver, carved jade and carnelian. You might even like the amber ties which are quite a dramatic statement.

Ronny, this may not be what you are considering, but there are a couple of places on the net that offer sterling silver tail cuffs and decorations that are pretty neat. One is Mystic Caravan that specializes in Celtic designs for a tail cuff. You tie your hair back as normal and the tail cuff simply covers the hair tie. Looks pretty sharp. The other site is a Numa Indian named Kenneth Johnson that does hair tie decorations out of silver coins. You can even get your birtdate on the coin if it is available! Their respective web sites are:

Hope this helps!

Stumbled in here from the women's long hair site which I stumbled into looking for a place to donate my long hair to cancer patients...Llucky find.
I've seen other men stick small figurines in their hair ties - like Mickey Mouse. Another friend just takes a very long piece of leather and ties it over his hair tie so it falls down the length of his hair.
I've experimented with things purchased at the Renaissance Festival with good results. I tie tips of deer antlers to the ends of leather cord. I've also tied small pieces of abalone shell to leather cord, works great when I'm wearing an Hawaiian shirt. If you can obtain the old Native American rolled tobacco can lid metal things they attach nicely to the end of leather strips. Beads on leather work well too.
These different items also have a satisfying sound as they click together during the course of a day. I didn't know why someone doesn't market these type of things, then saw some of the websites listed here. Its easy to create things ourselves too.
I wore GI and corporate hair for 50 years. Just started growing it long after turning 50. I took shit at work for it, I first used the hair ties as a "screw you" to the boss after a big argument where we finally compromised that I'd wear my hair tied back. Now that the hair is low on my back I seem to use the add-ons much less. They worked better at below shoulder level length.

The tailcuffs are also available from their manufacturer:
