Hey guys,
I thought I'd pass this on. I tried this today and it's worked out very nicely. Some of you probably already do this, but for my type of hair it turned out great.
Usually I just let it air dry while it's down or blow dry it on cool. The air drying has usually left my hair looking and feeling like crap. I usually resort to blow drying on low as I comb to make it look good.
Today, after a shampoo and conditioning, I used my fingers and a wide tooth comb to detangle and gently towel dried my hair. After that I combed it back and put my hair in a ponytail using about 4 ponytail holders to go the length of the tail. After a few hours the tail was just a little damp, but running my fingers throught it again I experienced no tangling (I usually get that alot when I wear it down to air dry).
Anyhow, just thought I'd share.
Take care,
Brett
Leaving wet hair is bad for hair because the cuticle is open when hair is wet. You should stop it if your hair is dyed. But also wet hair is easily damaged by friction. So you should hold your hair gently with a soft towel to dry. But it's good to use a Leave-in conditioner when hair is wet. Actually colditioner has effect on wet hair well because the cuticle is open when hair is wet.
I do towel dry my hair...gently, not pulling or using friction. I'm just saying that while it's still damp I put my hair in a ponytail. The outcome beats any other method I've used for drying. Anyhow, like I said, it works for me
