Hi.
I've been lurking in the background for a while now and I've always been very impressed with the level of support everyone gives each other in this forum.
I've been growing my hair since January 2003. I had one trim last August but the scissor happy stylist chopped off 2" when I told her to trim 1/2". It's now at a length that I can wear a half tail at work and I gel back the sides so they more or less stay in place.
At the weekend I'm going to a wedding and it's quite a posh affair. So I was wondering how I should wear my hair. I guess it's a toss up between simply tying it back - as usual or just letting it hang loose with the front held in place with a simple hair band (Alice band). What are people's thoughts on guys wearing these. My wife thinks I suit it better than the tail.
Unfortunately, I don't have any recent pics, but if I'll make a deal. If I get some decent answers I promise to post some soon.
Cheers
Dave
Dave, man, you're going to have to swallow hard and go see a stylist. I've gotten cornered a couple times with situations like yours and I'm glad I went to see a pro. They helped me to look my best, no cuts, just lots of styling and brushing and hair spraying. Got me through just fine, the wedding pics were great, I was easily Brad Pitt in disguise, then, when it was over, I washed all the crap out of my hair and returned to being me. For posh settings, dude, you have to be willing to swallow hard and let someone with some real skills handle it for you. Josh
You could:
Try a halftail bun (a-la-Beckham in the Vodafone PhotoMessaging Adverts) Or
Double tails (still rather "beckham-esk") that a high half tail gathered into another tail lower down.
Other ideas involve lots of gunk and styling. Look thru FHM for ideas... their Fashion sections often have lots of guys with mid-legnth hair styles.
