Are hippies these days arrogant and stuck up, or is it just me? Here in NY they seem to be. Even a friend of mine who's been involved with the hippie scene, agrees. Were the 60's hippies like that?
May just be your local. I'm a self-styled hippy of sorts, and at least I hope I'm not arrogant. My girlfriend is even more hippy than I am, and she's definately not.
I don't think so.
It's just you!
Joking apart, you mean there's still a hippy scene? I consider myself an old hippy, but there are very few of us where I live.
As one of the "origianl" hippies from the 60s we were not
arrogant and stuck up. If someone is
arrogant or stuck
up then they shouldn't be calling themselves a hippie.
At least the few I've met around here in Virginia have been very down to earth people. Snobbishness and arrogance are left to teh west-end yuppies driving around their SUV's and living in McMansions, with their perfect buzz-do's and expensive armini suits.
...seriously though, I thought the hippie culture was supposed to be against materialism, and arrogance. I always saw it as a "love one another" type attitude.
Have you grown your hair out yet? I've found hippies to be a lot more open to you once you have. When they start offering to share their drugs with you, you'll know you've "arrived".
yes, i've had long hair since high school. and even with the long hair, i've still noticed it. maybe it's because i'm not a hippie, but a hard rock-metal head instead? maybe hippies don't like us.
NO the 60's hippies were not like that at all and neither are true hippies nowadays
A real hippie
is usually a down to earth type of person even if they seem a bit
weird by what others consider
normal after all you could say it is a hippies job
to not conform or be a clone like so many people
do
a true hippie is not stuck up or arrogant, a true hippie is a friendly, loving type of
person
if those you met are arrogant and stuck up they do not deserve to be called hippies
What is a hippie, and a hippie "scene" to you?
Do you refer to a male with long hair as a hippie?
