Hi all,
It's been a few months since my last post, so I decided to put up a few new pictures. I'm three weeks away from finishing my first year of college, so, as you probably can imagine, haircare is not my first concern right now. This has led me to a daily ponytail and infrequent washings/conditionings. My hair has been dried out and rather tangled lately, but I plan to fix this all up in a few weeks.
The upside of this is that my hair growth seems faster as my life is hectic and my mind not always on my hair. I'm at my 22nd month of growth and my shortest hair is approx. 12", with the longest hair measuring in at nearly 15".
If you have seen my photos before, this is the first update in some time that I am nearly clean-shaven in. While I do not prefer to be this way (as it takes several years off of my appearance), I participated in a drag ball this past weekend and my competitive spirit drove me to go all out.
These two photos show my hair in its natural state (curly) and after being straightened. I don't straighten it very often, but I enjoy how it looks/feels when I do.
Hope the pics work! Comments/Questions/etc. welcome.

Your hair's great, Try smiling next time:) I'm in first year doing college work in 6form ,and I know what you mean about not having the time to be obsessed with my hair lol
wow! ur hair looks great curly and straight too, congrats!
You look totally different with straight hair but I think it looks much better curly. Your hair continues to grow very fast and should be really long in just a couple of years. As usual your hair looks great. Keep it long. Absalom
Anyone else think the resemblance to Johnny Depp in the latter pic is uncanny? (^_^)

Definitely see it. Crazy...
They could be long lost brothers.
I was just about to post the same thing, but wanted to check to see if it was already mentioned. Yup...the similarity is striking.
Dude! I would kill for your curls! Are you nuts?! Stop straightening it!
hehehe
If you'd kill for my curls, would you kill for my tangles too?
I guess we all wish we had what we don't (or at least some of the time, that is).
I'd kill for your waist-length hair!
I get tangles anyway.
lol
Give it about 9 more years.
;)
Yeah...hair looks great, I like it curly... tho I love the pic of it straight...sorta looks like someone has embedded their hand in your cranium and has taken control of your body.
My longest hairs are around the 28th month mark. I had the top cut to 3" 22 months ago.
I'm not a big guy (5'5 and a smaller head). It might jsut be an illusion.
... is what I call fantastic progress. Your hair looks good both ways, curly and straightened, and gives you a completely different look each time.
Congratulations on your near-completion of year ONE of college. I hope your finals go well and that you enjoy your summer break.
Have you declared a major yet? I suppose it's rather early for that. Any thoughts?
In any case, best wishes for school, and your hair looks great.

I'm most likely going to be a mathematics major with either an astronomy or an art history minor.
Thanks for your comments.
I hear ya'! Mathematics, all the way! You're the kind of person that helps dispel the stereotype of long haired men being trashy, ignorant people.
Thanks. Ya, there are quite a few people with long hair at my school, including several math, physics, and chemistry students. It's nice to know several intelligent longhairs.
Please be sure you reeeaaallly like math (I used to..)... I'm in my 3/4th year of a masters in math degree and everyday i'm there I feel like running away, plus I also think it makes you slightly crazy if you really get into it.
Oh no doubt. I think we have to be a little crazy to get into it in the first place! ;)
It's everyone else that's crazy .
Yeah I studied a Degree in Maths with Computing - I dropped out after 2 years for personal reasons, but I was rapidly getting to a point where could no longer see any useful application for what I was learning in the "Real World".
To this day I have only needed to apply something as simple as Trigonometry once to a practical situation (a loft conversion). I just can't envision using any of the more abstract concepts taught at Degree Level Maths for anything in my chossen career path.
Don't get me wrong, I know it very important applications, I just can't see myself ever using them.
I couldnt agree more, I think you only need to really get it if you wanna do a phd or go into research, I dont think many jobs require topology or practically anything else we 'learn'. I soooo wish id have done medicine : (
I LOVE math! I used to tutor Calculus and such. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy (for liking math). Oh well.
Don't forget to try other sorts of classes (music, art, photography, etc) to broaden your horizons.

Your hair looks fantastic either way and compliments your image by an A+! Thanks for sharing these photos.
Looks excellent Redleader, you're my personal long hair hero (I still envy your length and speed of growth!)
Keep it growing!
I feel you on the tangles. . . I've just about given up and let them dread
