Hi guys,
I used to have chin-length hair when I was about 14, but cut it really short, where it stayed til Christmas 2003, when I decided I wanted my hair back.
Any time I have started to grow, as I'm sure everyone understands, I have reached a certain stage - just where having a parting becomes an issue - and have just cut it.
However, I have managed this stage to keep it going for 4 months, but I really need support to keep going - my family are all against it.... the results, I suppose, of being 24 and still living at home.
I have been recording the progress monthly and will post the pictures as soon as I get home from work for you all to have a laugh at.
I'm also going to need some advice, once you see the photos, on what style to go for... I like the look of Chris Cornell (soundgarden) back in his hayday, or last samurai.... or maybe even longer... anyway, I'll be in touch.
I was also looking at all your pictures, which in itself is an inspiration to keep going. Congratulations on the progress you've all made, and on the site and the support it offers!
Wolfeyes.
Looking forward to the posted pics, man. Been there-done that with respect to others not wanting the hairstyle change from short to long. Josh
Wow, do you wanna hear a BIG coincidence? I'm a second-time grower and I cut my hair when I was exactly 14, and it was also chin-length at the time (not long enough, and I just gave up)! No kidding!
Now I'm 20, and have been growing it since last July. It can go a bit past my lips if I pull it down. There's no way I'm cutting it, once you just get through a few months you can have long hair for a long time to come. No need to even consider other people's opinions on the matter (even mine!), only your opinion matters for your hair
I sometimes wear a toque for 30 minutes to an hour after having blow dried (not too heavily) or towel dried my hair, which helps with my type of hair. Also, not worrying about its messiness is also a good technique. Then again, I"m in university at the moment, where it doesn't even matter. But some of the more experienced people on this messageboard should know how to help keep it manageable, rather than my stoic hair attitude.
Welcome to the board Wolfeyes
Look forward to seeing the pics - I think a lot of guys grow their hair in their teens only to cut it back - I did the same. But I'm 25 and bouncing back - 15 months since I started growing from a virtual buzz and its thanks to the board that I'm still growing.
Hope to see more of you.

Welcome Wolfeyes. I grew my hair, in a mullet, from age 17 to 22, cut it for a job. I've grown it about shoulder length a few times since then, been up and down with it. I'm 32 now, about 8 months into growth, determined to keep it this time. There's a lot of good support here, it's really helped solidify me this time.
