My family has a tradition of talking about the most interesting thing that happened in the day. Yesterday, the most interesting thing was definitely something that happened at IHOP.
My daughter had just finished her dance performance at high school. Then she went out with her mother and sister, who were visiting from out of town for her birthday. When she came back home, we (my daughter and I) went out to eat at IHOP.
Shortly after sitting down, a group from another table got up to leave. Their table was behind me, so I hadn't noticed them. As they passed our table, a man dressed in a kilt turned around to look at me. He had a luxurient, long, full beard. Not as long as mine, but fuller. He walked over to me and pulled my braid and said with a twinkle in his eye, "yanking braids is in my job description today", and with that he left.

'Friendly' sort of guy, isn't he! A sort of 'inner circle'
camaraderie.
Hair braid or beard braid?
Hair braid. BTW, my daughter says that the word he actually used was "pigtails".
I can definately say that no one has done and said that to me before.
That is a most unusual occurrence. Hopefully it was just a gentle, friendly tug. I would not want someone to yank hard on my hair. Absalom
It was, indeed.
Lol - Never Argue with a man in kilt... give them a lot of latitude.
(that's the best advice I can offer as an Englishman.)
