Does anyone else feel the uneasyness I do about sitting close to a pair of Scissors or a knife. I'm not talking about slitting my wrists but chopping all my three years worth of hair off.
There was one night when I rounded up every pair of scissors in the house and threw them in the river.
I would probably never do it but that fear is always in the back of my mind. How can the laws of physics allow three years of hair growth disapear in as many minutes? The thought terifies me half to death.
Does any one have any true stories about this subject they would like to share?
Jay,
Don't worry. If worst comes to worst and you cut off your hair,
you will find having useless short hair again such a turnoff that
you will immediately start growing it again. Thereafter, you will
know long hair is absolutely for you and you will have nothing
to fear in scissors.
Pete
I kind of have a fear of scissor, especially when certain people are wielding them behind me (my brother for one). But I also find the threat very exciting. I love to sit in a barber chair and have him cut a fraction of an inch off my length - just to hear the comments and jeers.
I do have a few true stories and many fiction stories - if you like e-mail me.
My brother used to tease me about my long hair - that I looked like a girl etc. I used to tease him by placing scissors near my bed and pretending to take a nap in the afternoon. He would come in and make comments sometimes pulling out the long strands. One day, I was very tired and actually fell asleep before he came in....
And yes, I have held scissors up to my hair and done other things to threaten it - sometimes really scaring myself.
