Does anyone here trim their eyebrows at all? Mine are a bit on the thick side, and I don't know how to trim them. I feel like if they were a little less thick they would suit my longer hair better. I just don't know how to do it; nor do I know if I even will do it, do you think it is a little too feminine to do?
Nah, it's not too feminine if you're careful. Guys with overly groomed eyebrows look odd, but I pluck stray eybrows on a regular basis and have been known to get them professionally waxed.
Did I really just admit to that? Oh well. :-)
What does the waxing do?
Do you mean your eyebrow hairs are too LONG or
too WIDE or too THICK?
Waxing or tweezing will just pull out 'extra' hairs and shape
your eyebrow.
They say the rule is to never pluck on top...only on the bottom.
Are you sure your brows are too 'big'?
Trimming with scissors is usually done on LONG eyebrow hairs
which usually occurs on OLDer guys.
Think before you act!
Good Luck!
Right, I'm not sure I'll do much about them anyway, as some things could not go so well, but theyre kind of like Colin Farrels, if you want an idea of their thickness.
Oh, now I know what you mean. Well, if after careful consideration
you still want to do something about your eyebrows, then
'shaping' or 'neatening' them up a bit would probably require
tweezers around the edges only.
The hair will grow back, though fewer & fewer will return
over time, as eyebrow hairs are more sensitiver to
being 'disturbed' in this way.
(Some women have actually 'lost' their eyebrows due to over-plucking!)
Hope this helps. Good luck!
At 36, I suppose I'm becoming one of those "OLDer guys". I trim the length of my eyebrows with scissors, because it makes me look younger again. What I do is rub my eyebrows "against the grain" as it were, and then cut off anything which extends outside the natural (i.e. younger person's) "eyebrow zone".
I think men who pluck their eyebrows often end up looking like off-duty drag queens. While I have nothing against drag queens, whether on duty or off, it's not a look that I aspire to.
Sorry for the delay in replying. However, there's some good info in the previous replies. And to answer your question, hair takes longer to grow back after waxing. If you go this route, be sure to go to someone who knows what they're doing.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Well at the moment, my hair flicks up when it rests on my eyebrows so thats pretty annoying and it doesnt show my true length If they're really thick, i think a very slight trim to start off with is the best. Thick eyebrows aren't very attractive, or so i've heared my female friends say.
I have a goatee, and thus own a beard trimmer with adjustable blade length. I use it on a moderate to short length to trim the thickness of my eyebrows. They don't look trimmed, but they are free of longer straying hairs. I use the blade without the adjustable part to trim the area just between my eyebrows to avoid the "unibrow" look.
Yup
I regularly pluck long hairs and trim back the unibrow look. I also ensure that they do not stray too much towards the temple.
There's nothing wrong with trimming your brows - they need as much care as any other hair on your body.
I think trimming eyebrows is just silly, unless they're so long they start interfering with vision. Brooke Shields is a good example of someone who, at least early in her career, refused to trim her eyebrows yet still was considered to be among the most beautiful women in the world.
And I don't understand why people don't like unibrows. I think they're cool.
I have to trim mine else they get into my eyes and cause problems.
Yeah, I trim individual hairs if they curl down into my eyeballs. That is not comfortable.
