Picture Purged
You guys are probably going to hate me for getting so much of my hair cut off, but it was in such bad shape that there was not much really I could do to save it. I wrote a few weeks ago about enjoying my hair running down my back. It had made it about 6 inches from the waistline of my jeans. The last 8-12 inches of my ponytail though had become a tangled rat's nest of split ends that no amount of combing or conditioner could fix. I had put sun-in on it a few years back, and while that stuff may be Ok for someone who has a buzz do, and keeps hair no longer than a few months at a time...it really messed up my hair that had gotten to be a few years old. Another problem I was having came from when I sat in my van to drive it. The van has high-back bucket seats in it, and my hair would become trapped between my back and the seat, and I couldn't turn my head! Any of you all had this problem? I had one of my neighbors whose a hairdresser trim it up in his kitchen one evening.
I had my hair trimmed back to just about sholder lenghth. It's still long enough to tie back into a ponytail for when I am at work (electronics tech) I'm really enjoying the shorter length though because I can leave it down more without it getting in the way. The picture I took was when was in New York City over the weekend. It was very windy Saturday, and my hair was not getting blown in the way, yet it was blowing around just enough to give that nice sensual experience.
steve,
if your hair was as messed up as you said it was, then it is a GOOD thing you got it shaped up and cut...just because hair is long, in my opinion, doesn't mean it looks GOOD. so good for you! for making what you;ve got look good.
i like the pic above of what your goal is...but what you have NOW also looks great ;-)

I really like your hair! That's my goal length actually and that's sort of how I want my hair to look like. Mine's just leaving an awkward stage that involves hair constantly falling in my face.Your's is sweet!
Looking great. Any pics before latest cut?
You just had twelve inches cut and you're still quite a long hair. We should all have that misfortune! Seriously, it looks great, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and do what's best for the long run. The damage you described will be a good warning for anyone else considering such products but wanting long hair. Thanks for sharing.
It WILL grow back!!!! It's still long anyway.
