Help!! I've got waist length, thick, curly hair that has just recently (last two weeks or so) taken to frizzing out on me and tangling up on itself into big rat's nests. I haven't changed the care routine or any products I use. The weather here has turned rather humid over the last month or so. I can't figure out what to do and I swear if I get one more knot like today's I am going to hack it off at the scalp! Anybody out there got any advice on products or techniques? Thanks
I like using Citreshine hair polisher. It works better than Frizz Eaze for me. Now this is a silicone product, so if you are one of those people who think silicones are evil, avoid it. It will definitely help you on those humid days, though. Just don't use too much. Probably a nickle size drop on one hand will be just right. Rub your hands together, spreading it as thin as possible all over your hands. Then gently carress your hair with your hands using firmer and firmer strokes thus applying the serum as evenly as possible.
You may also want to try out a humectant. I've never tried one, but I've heard good things about them. OTOH, in dry weather, they can make your hair brittle.
How about leaving your hair alone product-wise and just put it in a braid?
Why would some people consider silicone products evil? Does it affect hair or the environment somehow?
Some people think it damages hair.
