hi, i need help about my hair, i been growing it out since april 2003 i think and its pretty long now, but its flipping alot on the sides. i just want my hair to be straight, and another thing, all of a sudden the same shampoo+conditioner (2 in 1 bottle) is making my hair frizzy and puffy looking. any suggestions???
2 in 1 shampoo/conditioners are bad ideas, because its a little contradictory: It's meant to strip oils from your head but also condition them, doesn't really make sense.
You've probably got buildup from using it so often. Always use a separate shampoo and conditioner like Aussie and try to avoid ingredients such as silicones or dimenthycones as they coat the hair making it look rubbish. Purchase a good deep conditioner, and use that.
hey thanks for the advice, i tried it already with seperate shampoo and conditioner, but what about my hair flipping out? i need help on that...
You have a few options here
(1) Using a hair iron (or other such utensil *bioionic straightener etc. . )to straighten the flip out.
(2) using a round brush when blowdrying and brushing the flip under slightly.
(3) Getting your hair chemically straightened (definately not reccommended)
(4) waiting until your hair gets longer, in which case the flip might lesson some, or just turn into a nice looking wave.
Hope this helps!
That "Ball" Guy
I agree with all of the above, especially for a severe flip/curl. If yours is pretty mild (like mine), I've found that Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner helps to tame it a bit, or for a something a little stronger, a good alcohol-free gel.
If you have been growing out your hair since last April,
your hair is probably somewhere around 7 inches long. (6 inches
plus maybe an inch of growth when your started?)
At around 7 inches, your hair is probably still not long
enough to stop 'flipping.'
As your hair gets longer, the 'curving' of your hair will begin to relax
under the weight of the longer hair.
Good Luck!
well lets see, i see 2 "problems" here:
1) : its flipping alot on the sides.:
2) : i just want my hair to be straight:
Why breakup your hair and try to "fix" the first problem instead of fixing the second one and watching the first one disappear? :)
Is it so important to you how your hair looks?
good luck! Don't worry, it will sort itself out in time!

The RAQ might be able to answer some of your questions.
To start, lose the 2in1 products if you are planning long term growth.
