i finally got that trim because of my parents. my hair was down to my nose but the guy cut it and it just about reaches the eye brows.. it looks so stupid- ive decided that ive lost one thing i liked and my parents dont care... im gonna kill myself, nice knowing you guys- bye.
Hey Helgast,
When you turn 18, you can do what you want. Don't do anything
that will keep you from ever turning 18.
I know it's a bummer. I was held down by two strangers my mom
hired when I was eleven and they cut off all my hair. I don't
have a relationship with my mom anymore, but I still have my
hair. If you do what you just said, you won't have nothin'.
For every year you have between now and 18, you have a DECADE
or more to live after that. You can have long hair until it is
old and gray like mine.
Peace, bro, and look out for YOURSELF. That means not doing
anything to hurt yourself, above all else.
Helgast, my good man, I must say that wha you have threatened to do to yourself is a stupid thing, suicide. I'ts extremely selfish. My teacher, Mrs. Battista, thought she was doing everybody a favor when she killed herself. She was found hung and because of her action the church where her funeral was held was overpacked. There was barely even any standing room. It showed that there were many people who loved and cared for her but were hurt. Think of who you could hurt from such an action. It would leave your parents to feel guilty for the haircut, yes, but it will make them feel even worse than that. Everybody you know will be hurt. Even people who bully you will feel awful. You do not want to hurt yourself or others and even to joke about it can hurt people. Please, I've talked three out of four people out of suicide. and I've lost my teacher and it is something that you do not want to even think about. From now on that word, suicide, must be taboo to usage in your mind.
dear brother helgast, you cannot look stupid, so stop that melodrama :-)
just let your hair grow again, and again, and again, and again. they will get it eventually :)
what in the world could stop you? your hair will grow. why are you in a hurry? are you afraid you won't have long hair before you die? You have your whole life in front of you!!! Be patient :)
Enjoy it. Don't let life sadden you :) keep in touch if you feel you could use some help
Take care!

Helgast- do not do such a thing. Hold out for the better days.
It's true, life really is not fair, but that's ok. You go through good times and bad times. What you need to do is enjoy the good times while you're in them, and look forward to the next one when you're not. That's good advice that's got me through my life, and a good way to look at it.
Man, if you want to talk or anything, I can be reached until the end of this month at ivixthelegendary@hotmail.com.
Take care man, we're all here for you.
I hope you are being sarcastic about killing yourself, nothing's worth that sacrifice.
About your hair, what I'd do is get some sort of hairstyle that keeps the top longer so it won't take so long to grow that out when you do go for it.
Although it may seem like a long time to you now, by age 20 you will have nice long hair and by the time you're my age it'll be past your hips! (which mine incidentally, is not, I have to wait until I'm 30).
Good luck
You think your parents 'don't care' because they cut your hair.
But from your parents perspective, they DO care about you because they cut your hair!
What a crazy world.
Say hello to your future and all its dreams.
Good Luck
thanks guys ive changed my mind... without the internet id probly be gone by now.. so thanks

I know you feel down rotten at this time, but you won't be with your parents all your life. You'll spend many more years living on your own, being able to do whatever you want, than at home with your parents. Hang in there.
The post didn't turn out the way I intended. SorrY.
... my friend, you have true friends around here. Hair is something that for most people will always grow. I am 33 years old and ever since I was a teenager I wished I had long hair but with as thick as my hair is I didn't think it was possible. With the help of this board, I, within the last couple of years, have been taught and seen that it IS possible to grow my hair long.
What I am getting at here is that you have so much youth left in your life to be growing long hair, even long after you are no longer under the control of your parents. I am sure your parents love you. Though they may try and push THEIR image of you off onto you, I do not believe that constitutes hateful control, just a little off parenting. No one is perfect. You have the time ahead of you to grow hair down to your waist and you will still be a lot younger than 33. I know that even that is still quite young, but I wish I had only realized my potential when I was your age. Hang in there, bro. We're all here for you when you need us. So are your parents if you are willing to open up to them honestly and maturely about yourself and your interest. Peace, Bro!
Yeah I totally agree - it took me until I was 24 years old to finally grow my hair out. You have plenty of time left - and I bet if you were 100% straight with your parents about your long hair goals you could get them to agree to let you grow it.
This board is full of guys who've faced similiar problems, stand in there persist and you'll get there.
I didn't convince my mom to let me grow my hair until I was 17. I made her sign a contract. I am now only 18. I've got loads of time left :)!
Right on bro! This is the most friendly and welcoming community of online friends I have ever seen!
I'm glad you changed your mind. I know it sucks to get trims but hang in there man, you'll have the hair you love someday! I don't have long hair right now but I'm setting my own goals, set yours and you'll get there. Things could be worse! Like a spiked haircut I had three yrs ago! lol Peace, ~Blond~
Thanks you guys are really great, I really needed someone to talk to. I was really sad because after my ass of a dad makes me get the hair cut he yells at me. Hes crazy... he says hes taking tomorrow off from work but hes not even gonna drive me to school hes just gonna "be in the neighborhood making sure I dont pull anything"...
And thanks again =) :D :)
Hey helgast, really sorry you had to get a cut... but there's always time to grow again - I'm 24 and growing for the 2nd time.
You could keep putting mousse in your hair and kinda making it stick up so your parents don't notice next time it's getting long... or always wear a hat.
Seriously sorry man, give me a shout if you need a chat or anything. Keep yer chin up.
