I have just read a tract on the www.tlhs.com about JoJoba Oil. It reccomends 2 drops rubbed into the palms, then gently applied to the hair below the ears (to avoid mixing with the scalp and potentially causing a reaction). Has anyone used this oil? Does it help your hair? Do you prefer another kind, coconut perhaps?
My hair and oil of any kind except natural scalp oil do not mix...
I just purchased some of this. Haven't used any yet. I'm going to be mixing some "pure essential oil" of geranium to give it a scent. I might get a small spray bottle to put this mixture in so I can give my hair a "spritz" after showering, and as needed.
I'll let you know how it goes!
What kind of geranium? There are geraniums that smell naturally like each of the following (at least):
* chocolate
* lemon
* mint
* rose
* lime
* ginger
* apple
* nutmeg
* strawberry
* peach
* wood
* citronella
and others
Hmmm...didn't know there were different types!
This is "Pelargonium Graveolens." It says: Used throughout history as a great comforter, organic Geranium essence, is now known as both an anti-inflammatory and antisceptic. It's spicy floral aroma is also well known for its balancing and refreshing qualities.
I wanted to get rose, but they didn't carry it. I liked the smell of another of the oils, but this one smelled better.
Still haven't mixed the stuff together and used it. I've been so busy between school and my website that I haven't had time to buy a bottle to keep the mixed product in.
Now I'm sick, so it's going to be a couple days indoors for me.
Maybe I'll check ebay....
I think jojoba oil is supposed to be the closest oil to natural hair oil.
Yep I use it like a leave in conditioner, by rubbing two drops into damp hair, it really softens your hair. You can also add it to your reg conditioner if you wish... Oh and its fine to get on your scalp... in fact you can slather it on your face, I use it for my eczema.
tho its still called jojoba oil.
