Severe tangling from hair getting slammed around from banging. So ya im in a metal band that is pretty extreme. So obviously theres headbanging going on when we play live. My problem is my hair gets severely knotted with even slightest bit of getting tossed around where as everyone elses hair seems to be fine. Is there something I can do about this and also what is a good detangling method its not like the hair gets knotted its just tangled and hurts like all hell when trying to brush it out.
Try using a pick instead of a brush to get out the tangles. As usual, start at the tips and work your way up. Once the pick glides through easily then grab your brush to finish up. You want to gently remove tangles to prevent damage to your hair. I am unsure how long your hair is but the longer it gets the more tangle prone it will likely become. I have extremely long hair so I keep multiple hair bands (9 or 10 of them) at 4 inch intervals along its entire length. Silicone based products may be helpful to reduce frizz and tangling but should be used sparingly. Absalom
Alright thanks. My hair is probably 14+inches im getting close to two years growth. Would a wide tooth comb work for this as well?
Yes, a wide tooth comb should work just fine. The main concern is to minimize damage to your hair. I use a pick because the teeth are very long and able to reach the bottom layers of my hair more easily. It is a bit more work but a wide tooth comb would work on my hair as well but I would have to comb from underneath as well as on top. By the way 14 inches is reasonably good growth for 2 years. Also what is your goal length? Absalom
I have not yet decided on a goal lengeth yet. Basically im going to grow it for three years and see how long it is at that point. I guess im aiming for chest and lower back.
