Hey Guys. I'm new to the board here, but you have some interesting and helpful posts. I've been growing my hair out since October and I've never had it this long before. The front goes just past my nose now.
What you you guys do with your sideburns? I have been trimming mine every few weeks to keep it short, the same as on a short haircut. Should I keep doing this? I checked out Sorted's website and I think my goal is about his month 10.
Advice?
Welcome to the board, I get a little confused when people talk about sideburns, do you mean the sort of beard hair that grows from chin to cheek to front of ear where it meets the real hair, or is it the real hair at the sides just in front of your ear that you keep trimmed?
I'm talking about the head hair (not beard hair) right in front of the ear.
I thought so, thanks for confirming, I always thought that but then people started talking about beard and trimming sideburns and i just automatically assosiated beard with sideburns.
I haven't cut mine, I don't know if people do?

ahhhhh, I see.... in that case I don't have much of an idea... I just let it grow, though I'll probably trim those burns a wee mit, to avoid what I call the 'ear muff' look.
I don't do anything with my sideburns, and they just happend to stay a convenient length (BWG).
I let my sides run into my jawline hair - gives a little added definition and strength to the jaw... or so I'm told lol!
Not really one for the sculpted look, so I'm generally pretty stubbly otherwise. If you post a pic, we could maybe suggest what style of facial hair might suit. Just an idea.

Although my hair is still short (I've just started growing it out), I've always shaved my sideburns to mid-ear level. I'm not sure how it'll work when my hair is longer.
The thing with sideburns is that they can compliment both the hair and a beard, so it also depends on the facial hair you're growing (if you are).
When I started growing my hair long I began to keep my sideburns shaved completely off. I have been trying recently though, to let them come in a little more. Experiment, sideburns grow faster than the rest.
I would say my hair at the back grows faster than my sideburns
