Picture Purged
Time to stop putting it off, I had about 8 free hours today and finally dreadlocked my hair. *whew*
Now, just a disclaimer: new baby dreads are fuzzy as all get out, and point in weird directions. . . .it will take a couple of weeks for them to tame down a bit.
But anyways, here's a photo of the new dreadies, in all their freakish glory! View at your own risk!
That "Ball" Guy
P.S. and no regrets! :D
Haha awesome man!
Thanks!
Sweet
So are you going to continue to let them grow as dreads?
what other choice is there? cut them right away? those need a few years let alone to mature :)

They really suit you well. Good one!
That's pretty cool. Those loose dreads remind me of "Sideshow Bob" from the Simpsons. Absalom
Excellent, man! I am envious! They will look cool as they grow in.
Hope you still have no regrets and are enjoying the change!
cheers, Pete
Wow! That is scary! Certainly no shortage of impact with those Dreds!
To be honest I thought your hair was awesome before, your curls were excellent. An inspiration to anyone with curly hair wanting to grow long hair!
Glad you have no regrets - but there are many who really admired your curls.
You had great hair before. Think of the damage you've now done to it! Sorry, just don't like the look at all.
I think he looks much more distinguished in his appearence, it's class! Suits him too.
it looks better than yours matey
I don't think Stanley needs to be insulted cuz of his opinion... I'm sure ThatBallGuy is doing just fine despite it.
Ah come on, that's not necessary. . . .to each their own eh?
Ah well, the world would be boring if we all had similar tastes. I appreciate the comment though, I'd rather have you be honest than a "yes-man".
As for the damage, the process itself is actually rather gentle, and now no single strand has to hold it's own weight (a cord of three. . .or three thousand ;)
Not to mention that they never have to go through the stress of detangling again! woohoo!
BTW, how is your own hair coming? I heard that you had cut it, are you growing it back?
The most important thing is that you're happy with the look. That's great.
I haven't cut the top part of my hair since January and won't for a long time. I hope to let it get to a somewhat enjoyable length and then keep it there for awhile.
It's good that you vary your hairstyle. The way you have it now looks good, so does the longer hair. Are you going to try for shoulder length one day?
btw, the shaved head also suits you, most guys aren't suited to it. [Now that I've said that, they'll kick me off the board for heresy, lol]
I have a fondness for curls but nothing beats the look of a person with exactly what they have waited for. Short of Bill and Absalom giggling together, I have not seen a happier face in a photo here. Those sweet curls appear to live on at the ends for now anyway and handily enough we can still enjoy the past photos of Ball Guy's curls so there really is no loss here, only gains.
Way to go Ball Guy! You look quite distinguished.
Elizabeth
That is pretty wild! You'll have to post a follow-up pic when it tames down a bit.
looking good! :)
btw, you may want to check into:

Thanks so much! I'll definitely look into it. Yeah, I've chosen to pass on using wax, figure they'll just do their thing.
Now that is looking awesome! I really like it, nice one.
Thanks!
Freakish? Hardly. They look great on you as if you are a natural for Dreadlocks. Really neat. Enjoy!!!!!!!! :-)
You look sweet with dreds. Fits you very well... What kind of styles exist for dreds, btw?
There's a few:
1: ponytail (once it's longer) (you can use two dreadlocks for the tie, instead of an elastic.)
2: braided
3: multiple braids (3 dreads to a braid)
4: um, yeah. . .I think that's about it. . .
5: oh yeah, you can also spike them (not my preference though)
I think the dreads look great and really suit. What method did you use to make them?
Doug
I used a (new) flea comb from Wal-mart and back-combed it. No wax either!
WoW! the dreads look great, now you should throw away your
razor and let your beard grow too.(I think dreads look even better with at least a goatee)
Thanks for the compliments! Yes, I have already started the process (school had a facial hair code as well) of letting my beard grow. I will "shape" it a bit to keep from looking TOO wild and wooly, but I intend to let it grow.
Yahoo for you. Your hair looks awesome. Consider using a little bit of bees wax to tame the frizz. When you go to sleep, use a nylon cap to keep it all together. Anyway, I think you had the perfect hair for what you are trying to achieve. You only live once, do it while you're still young and have hair...
