As soon as I include the information in the FAQ I will implement a new guideline for this site. No messages that are simply requests to email pics. There are other avenues for that. If, in the future, I see messages whose sole content is e-mail of pictures solicitation, I will promptly remove these messages. If you would like to exchange photographs, submit what you have to me and I will post them. If they are not suitable to be posted on this site, I'd rather not have the e-mail contact here either.
The real reason for this decision is that it is my feeling that such posts are not productive (at least to the general readership of this board). They are simply a waste of space.
If anyone wishes to comment on this new policy, please do so now before I implement it.
Sounds like a good policy! One possibility, however, is to have a separate hyperboard for 'Contacts' where all such things could be posted. This would make the main board easier to follow, but would, of course, still use up disk-space.
I would like to add that I have never seen
a site as well run as this one is! Congratulations.
Works for me, Victor. I cannot understand why so many people insist on these secretive e-mail exchanges instead of just donating their pics to a common site so everyone can benefit. Are they worried about security or privacy? Then what's to prevent someone they trade with from indiscriminately spreading their photos around the Net.
I support your policy. And I'd really like for someone who has been advertising to exchange photos by e-mail to explain why they oppose posting them to an appropriate web site. I, for one, can't figure it out.
