Hello! Let me tell you all a little story. About 11 months ago, on August 13th, I was determined that I wanted to grow my hair long, preferably shoulder length. Like many of first time growers, I had many doubts. I didnt think I could ignore my hair and just not cut it. It felt weird. After the first 3 months, I was becoming very happy. I felt that my patience was coming in very handy. Although I had a very long way to go, I was still very determined. Like many of you, I faced many comments, suggestion, insults, if you will, like "just cut your hair, already". Well, I had taken these comments into consideration many a time, but I firmly stood strong. I still had not cut my hair. I think after a while not cutting my hair every month became conditioned. Also, I picked out someone who I admired, with long hair, ofcoarse to rolemodel my hair after for motivation. They dont have to be famous, just someone whos hair you REALLY want. Soon after the hard part was almost over, 3 months became 5 months, into 7 months and finally now its going on 1 year. I know many of you now are wondering what Im leading in to . Well, heres my best advice for those who want to grow long hair. Rule #1- just simply do not cut, trim or even touch your hair! Trust me! Rule #2- wash and take care of your hair. Just b/c your not cutting it doesnt mean you should leave dismantled and unkept. Rule #3- ignore all "suggestions" about what to do with your hair. Its your hair! Just hold that "hair rolemodel" close in mind and keep a record or how long it was since you last cut your hair. These are my 3 simple rules on long hair growth. Take it from someone who never, ever thought he would grow long hair, until a few months ago. Dont get me wrong, I still face those few who like to "suggest" what I should do with my hair. I just ignore them; I know theyre jealous ;) After almost a year of growth, Ive become very attached to my hair. So attached that I dont let anyone with scissors in their hands get within 2 feet of me. Ok, maybe Im little paraonoid, but I have to be! Remember, you can do it! Good Luck!
