  Is an undercut what people get when they want their hair to curl under like with a bob or pageboy? I understand that it is supposed to make the hair curl under without using a curling iron, just using a round brush and blowdryer.

    That is one deffinition of an undercut. There is one other definition. It goes like this: The top is long, but the back and sides are very short, or even shaved, causing the top to fall over and cover the head. If one keeps one's hair down, then no one may realize the undercut.
