Below are pics of my hair as of to date. I currently feel much better this way. I figure it is for the best stress wise. I love long hair, but it is just way too uncomfortable for me. I'll hang around here from time to time also. Thanks for everyones kind words. You guys are true friends indeed! Peace!
NICE............Scared you may of got a buzz cut
Hi Treyn
Hey...........it looks GREAT! You seem to have the ability to pull anything off and always look well. The main thing is that it makes YOU happy. That is what counts. Yikes.........by your write-up I almost had visions that you really skinned-it all off. No way man. It is still rather longish by todays standards and befits you ever so well. Thanks so much for letting us see the results. You have the greatest looking hair anyone could wish for.
My best to you always,
Justin~
Yeah Treyn, like the other guys said it still looks fine! I like it, and I'm glad you did something that made you happy.
By the way, how did the first shower after getting it cut feel?
I'm also glad you didn't go for the boring buzz cut. You're hair looked very wonderful when it was midlength...I hope you consider letting it grow longer than the short conservative length. That's also so boring. You're very handsome with any length, but longer than business length seems to suit you very well!

Are you kidding? That may be short compared to what you had but its not really short. I was under the impression you had some sort of military haircut like a recon or just plain shaven head. It looks really good on you that way too. For example, I have to have it around 3mm short because I don't like the regulation haircut that makes me look like fred flintstone (with a dead cat on top) and I don't like getting stubble in my shirt, truck and everything else so I don't go to barbers. Btw, what size are your earrings?
Treyn, you have been a source of inspiration and knowledge to me for a long time; certainly for the most difficult part of my journey. I'm sure others on this community would say the same thing. I well know that stressful times can put enormous pressures on us to change controversial aspects of our lives. Perhaps it is the cold, knowledge-seeking engineer part of my personality but I want to say that in time if it is not too personal I hope you will provide us a bit of insight into your decision to return to short hair. It would be very instructional. Thanks for what you have done for this community. I sincerely hope you stick around.
Wow! Dare I say this style looks better on you...
Really well done. I'm glad you're at peace with your decision. It looks great on you.

I've read your postings from the past and I've visited your web site since a few months ago. I'd never have predicted in a million years you'd change your style so suddenly. You've never given any clue you were very ambivalent about having longer hair, so much so you were tempted to cut if all off. In fact, didn't you say not too long ago you were committed to letting it grow towards waist level?
I'd be no more surprised if I heard Tiger Wood say tomorrow that he was giving up golf or Bill Gates say he was giving up computers!
This style actually looks good on you.
Glad you posted the pictures...For some reason,
I was expecting something much shorter!
The MOST important thing in Life is that you feel comfortable with yourself...
and with your self-image!
Good luck and...
don't be a stranger!
Just cry.
But we live in free world so stick around please
Wow...too bad. It was really looking good. If it was becoming too much of a hassle, and you were complaining about it/not enjoying it, this is then probably for the best. The longest I've ever been able to get is about the length you were before it was cut.
You really did accomplish something, and learned something about yourself, so all of this was worth every second.
Peace!
I would never laugh at your hair or you for that matter. You have proven to be a great ambassador for long hair and just a great guy. I can't believe how much has happened since I went on vacation. I was only gone a week... I'm glad you're no longer stressing.
Peace bro

You look great.....and more inportantly you feel comfortable with yourself. Thanks for sharing and don't leave the board....you still have lots to contribute.
It works for you, plus your piercings are more visible now.
Ditto StanleyBey's response in the thread below. Suddenly you stopped posting as often as you usually did and one couldn't help but wonder what was going on! How come you didn't just take off a few inches, to the point where you felt OK with it again? I mean, you can still be a longhair without growing to your waist! For as "gung ho" as you were in the last 15 months (Long Hair Kicks Ass), this is a complete turn-around in philosophy! I agree, it's a personal choice for everyone, but this seems......strange! Could it be that long hair was just a "phase" you were going through? However, you were a constant on this board and gave lots of encouragement to all of us, and you deserve a big "thanks" for that! But, posting from now on, whatever the reason, won't be as meaningful if you're not "growing".
im really sad to read this post.. just today i was wondering how your hair had been getting along as we were around the same length in growing.. and now im just really upset at it :(
It looks all right. The only style I don't like on others is a crew cut or buzz cut, and even that is just because it makes me think of skinheads.
I would never cut my own hair short, but that doesn't mean I obsess about the length of other people's hair (although my head turns when I see a girl with really long hair!). I do sometimes have trouble relating to other guys with very short hair, as I tend to imagine we have nothing in common, probably wrongly.
Mine actually seems to be growing again, after I thought it was stuck at mid back (hurray!).
Treyn,
I've been away for three days so I've only now read that you've cut your hair. Came as quite a shock, however I can only agree with what others have said so far:
1)The new hairstyle suits you and I too am glad that you haven't "buzzed".
2) You have contributed LOADS of good advice to this board so thanks.
3) The most important thing is that you're happy with it and I respect your decision.
Take care!
This "competition" started out with three guys growing their hair out from having short hair. One cut it, then their were two. The next one cut it, then their was one. No surprise that the last one cut it, now all three are back to square one, right were they started. Boy, "Long hair certainly does kick a**, doesn't it"?????!!!!!!!
So, the dude changed his mind. Nothin' wrong with that. If "changing one's mind" weren't an honorable option, we wouldn't have any use for "freedom of speech", now would we. The only purpose of freedom of speech is to change other people's minds. [grin]
