Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been posting - was sick last week... and funnily the only thing that really annoyed me about it was that it would stunt my hair growth :)
Anyway, up and feeling better now. Just took these pics this morning - past the eyes and heading for the nose now! Thenon the the chin, the shoulders, and God only knows after that :)
Hair's still staying in great condition, which I'm happy about. This is the first time I've seen the back - looks a little uneven or something, but could just be cos it's not fully dried yet. Anyway, I'm not getting a trim til shoulder length.
Hope you's are all keeping well - I see we have some new additions - welcome guys!
Let me know what you think... also if you have any styling ideas, please feel free to voice them - I hate having curtains (eye-level bangs)

Maybe shave the side burns back to ear length finishing full and square instead is the near chin strap?
otherwise its comiong on well - interesting straight hair.
Your hair is so thick, straight and shiny! I think
you will be one of the lucky ones by avoiding
the worst part of any of the awkward phases!
Good Luck!
Thanks man, I hope so!
Hey man, your hair is really looking great!!
It's very thick, and straight.
Sorry to hear you were ill last week, I was afraid also of my hair growth being stunted also about a month ago when I had food poisoning!
Hope you're better now.
I'm coming up to 6 months in about 4 days i think, need to check my calendar, I'll post a pic for comparisons.
I'm having similar problems as you, my bangs are beginning to look like curtains lol.
You've got incredibly fast growing hair!
By the way, nice wallpaper! :p

Hey growing buddy ;)
Glad I'm not the only one at this stage, but at least it'll not be long til the annoying curtains can be tucked behind our ears - I think that'll be a big marker for me, cos I was able to do that for about 6-8 months until I got my hair buzzed back when I was 15 or 16.
It'll be nice to fully enjoy the stages this time :)
Keep growing!

PS - I painted calvin and hobbes :)
LOL! That's fantastic.
Yea, I think I need another inch before I can tuck my bangs behind my ears. If you want a sneak preview of my hair and not wait a couple of days, I posted 2 further down the board asking Bill is my hair turning blond, because it's getting really blond.
Keep growing:)
Looks good, man! My hair's doing that same thing - mine is naturally wuite a dark brown, but I have some blonde, and even some ginger hairs (as well as a handful of greys) now that my hair's getting longer. It went like that before as well. I think that the longer your hairs are, the more you notice the extra colour - especially when it's dangling in your eyes like it is now.
You might have very light sensitive hair - mine used to be very sensitive and I would come back from holidays with bleached blond hair just from the sun.
Time will tell, but your natural highlights look good.

Hey there,
Your hair is looking better all the time. The uneveness in the back is just a result of the layers that were formed from the shorter haircuts. It looks good. Just play around with different looks, for grins you may want to try an off center part to avoid the curtains look, although it is not unbecoming. The current look helps to frame those eyes.
ck
Thanks ck - I'll have to take a day when I have nothing to do and just try out lots of hairstyles and have a laugh... definately not something to do right before work LOL!

Wow, your hair looks really great and it's so straight, I could only dream about having such straight hair.
Also you've made a great progress in only 5 months, I'm growing for ca. 6 months now and don't have such long hair.
Have you tried putting some hair behind your ears yet? I could imagine that would also look good at you.
So I wish you best luck in future!
noodlez
Thanks noodlez.
Can just about fit hair behind my ears - I reckon another inch will do it... eagerly awaiting that day!
Great progress, both the growth and maintaining healthy hair. If the eye curtains are the worst thing you have to deal with in the awkward stage, consider yourself very lucky. My length is maybe a half inch to an inch past yours, and I've got plenty of curls and flips to deal with, gel or infusium 23 leave in is a pretty much a necessity. Keep it up!
A technical question for you on your photos. I just took some progress pictures of my own, but any resizing I do to get them below the 50K limit creates horrible distortion with any size beyond a thumbnail. I've started my own website, but I'm limited to 5Mb, so I'm trying to limit the photos I put there. Any advice?
Hey spodman.
If you can get your hands on Adobe Photoshop, that's probably the best program to adjust your detail levels with. If not, there are probably other programs that save different filetypes.
Save all images as JPEG/JPG images - these have the smallest size, with only a small loss of quality if changing from a BMP or something. If you save files as JPEGs in adobe photoshop, you will then be given the option of reducing the quality of the image, thus reducing the filesize. If you need to, you can put this right down, as the image does not become pixelated or anything - I think it saves it at a lower resolution, or with fewer colours.
So you can have images the size of those I used, using only about 36k!
Hope this helps!
Good luck.

Wow! Great Progress Wolfeyes - Well Grown!
As for other style suggestion you could try a side rather than a center part. That's about it really... :-(
Think all looks great so far. You have awesume hair to work with. Ha ha ha............I can well remember the "eye-thing." But it is really a rather short period to have to put up with and before you know it it is over. For now, you might want to consider parting the Bangs further away from your eyes? Most probably a little gel would hold them. About all I can think of unless (and this would be temporary) parting the hair on the side. Good luck and keep it growing!!!!!!!!!!!
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I only wish you were gay...would love to let my fingers run through your hair. Keep up the good work and thanks for the pics.
eric
Good to know I can keep my options open LOL.
Thanks man :)

Anytime you want, i'll be there for ya! (Seriously!)

Hey man, your hair is great! I think with a look like that I'm going to have to cast you in one of my movies someday.
Question, did you put anything in your hair, like Jojoba Oil, or is it just wet from the shower? Anyway, keep it up!
Thanks Sid. Hair was still a bit wet when I took the photho - and there's a little jojoba oil in it too :)
wolfeyes
It's looking good. Just a few months of hell ahead...haha
You know, I have the feeling that long hair is going to look very good on you.
Maybe try parting it at the side and sweeping the fringe back with some gel, in a casual sort of way? Sorry, couldn't find any pics to illustrate what I mean.
looking good man. can't say as i have any useful ideas about the 'curtains' stage... it was quite awhile ago for me but i remember spending ALOT of time brushing my hair back with my hands. boy was i ever happy to get it long enough to stick behind my ears glad you're feeling better and i seriously doubt that your recent illness will impact your growth rate.
Your hair is looking better every day. That little wave in the back should slowly disappear as your hair gets longer. That earring reminds me of The Edge from U2, he has it placed similarly, well up the earlobe, instead of at the bottom. Absalom
Glad you're feeling better.
You weren't at the back of the queue when they were handing out the good looks and the great hair !
(I feel a song coming on "Some guys have all the luck....")
Thanks man. I know we can all be our own critics here, so I'll just agree to disagree about the looks, but I appreciate it.
wolfeyes
Your hair's looking great! How long was it before you started growing it out / how long are you aiming for? And do you use any product or anything to keep it straight/shiny like that?
I'm planning on starting letting my hair grow out again this summer (failed by peer pressure last time!). It's kind of short just now (2-2.5") but am hoping i'll see a difference in length before I go back to college at the end of september. Any advice on keeping it looking good much appreciated!
Hi jas,
My hair was less than 1cm when I started growing it in December. I just made sure that even when it was short, i was conditioning it, as the hair you're growing now will be with you until your first trim.
No real big tips - mostly stuff I've learned from these guys - don't wash your hair in really hot water - leave it just warm, then when you condition, rinse it with cool water - all this stops the heat from rinsing all the oils out of your hair, leaving it better conditioned.
You can also do what I do and use a little jojoba or coconut oil in your hair after washing - it locks in moisture, stops your hair from frizzing as much, and makes it more manageable.
Other than this, just be gentle with your hair... and DONT GIVE UP!
good luck :)
