Some of you may recall my asking for pictures of men with long hair around 1860 (Thanks again for the links)for my justification of being able to wear long hair at a historic village I work at. Well, Friday out costume designer did a talk for all staff on men's hairstyles of the 1860's and virtually conceeded that long hair was acceptable, but that men with greater than longish hair in the 1860's were considered radicall or as "Dandies" (great word, I think I like it) She listed several people like Wild Bill who were known for their long hair but were not the norm. Although my hair is only about 10to12 inches long, she did say I had gone past longish to the "Dandie" stage. Yeah for me!
