How many of you find it annoying, when in the shower, if your hair is like mine and gets saurated by condensation, it curls and does all sorts of flips, but only when I'm in the shower. If I wash my hair and let it dry naturally - no problems, but if it gets partially wet from the steam from the water in the shower, it goes haywire!
Also, washing my face is becoming more of a problem as it gets longer, as my bangs aren't long enough to tie and I end up trying to pull my hair away from my face and it still gets wet, and then the bangs usually curl up half to a full inch up my forehead so It looks more of a mullet. Can't wait until this problem goes away. Any suggestions how I can restrain my hair in an easier way, only for washing?
I know what you mean - I've all but given up trying to shower and keep my hair dry. :-) No matter how hard I try I always get the back wet, and this is worst part for curling.
I could do a little more about it, but I find it easier to rinse or wash each time I shower, then at least I'm working on a level field so to speak. Beyond using a shower cap I don't suspect there much you can do to stop your hair reacting to the moisture.
As for washing your face, why not hold you bangs back whilst your wipe your face with a fannel rather than trying to splash water over your face.
(God this sounds like I'm trying to teach you to suck eggs, sorry SurferDude, I dunno what I'm doing replying here, it can't be this obvious.)
until your hair is long enough to tie back. When I wash my hair (around every 3-4 days) I do it in the evening. In the morning I tie my hair back and put it under a shower cap and have a normal shower. Never gets wet.
Lol, no, carry on, i'm a fast learner!:)
good idea about the flannel.
Looks like shower car will have to work, with me, the flips arn't particularly bad at the back, just the front, my hair rotates like nearly 360 when it's saturated with condensation!
I was thinking more of using some sort of hair tie, and Scarred Orange is suggesting a head band, that sounds excellent.
Having hair this long is new to me lol, so I'm just learning stuff.
Mabey try using an alice band very cheap but worth it, like a hair band but a complete circle and with spikes . but if your hair is only an inch or ling dont try and pull it right back only enough so your hair stayes in it.
Thought of trying a plastic shower cap? works wonders!
Lol yes, i have, but I hate them, but it looks like that's the thing that'll keep the condensation out:(
I hate them too...but it certainly does does the trick...just dont wear it when you are not in the shower alone.
Thanks for your replies , I've got more than a few ideas to try out!
I don't seem to have this problem. When I shower, I either condition only or shampoo and condition my hair. I don't think I ever took a shower trying to keep my hair dry.
A headband as mentioned is a good idea. I'm not quite sure but I know vinegar treatments to help with your hair. I'm not certain but I've heard the unwanted curly strands are separated and are easier to manage. I could most definitely be wrong, try consulting someone who knows about this to know the real facts.

I use a vinegar rinse about once every two weeks, and yea, it does help my hair, stops it from flipping too much.
I'll probably use a shower cap, see how that goes, and I could get an alice band off my sister to try out.
Dude this is very easy to fix. Go to the store and buy a plastic shower cap. I stole my sisters.
