I'm really worried because soon I will get to a "fork in the road" with my hair, my dark roots will begin to show more as the weeks go by and I really don't want to dye my hair again for a while. My problem is that I like blonde hair too much. I don't think this problem can be solved really.
Have you tried some natural highlightener, i think they sell it in bottles, you need a couple of applications but it works and is virtually harmless, I think!! I don't think it will work for dark hair though, only light brown.
I'm no expert but Suferdude's idea seems pretty good, you could try and gradually blend your hair from light to dark as you grow it out. You'll end up with hair like mine or bill's which gets lighter towards the ends. Sunbleached kinda look.
I've got a friend who's grown out her coloured hair. She's got curly hair which falls to mid back, its amazing how natural her transition looks.
I'd say you need to decide whether you want to change your colour or not. If you do want to see what it's like, it can't hurt - natural hair colour is the colour that was tailor-made to suit you.
And if you decide you don't like it, the solution's easy.
On the other hand, continuing to dye your hair could have long-term effects that would make you a very sad dude. Have a wee think about it and see what you want to do.
If it helps, you could send me a photo of yourself and I could change the hair colour so you can have a rough idea of what it might look like... or have a go yourself!

Way ahead of you already spent 5 mins messing around in Photoshop. OK Blonde - I could do a lot better for you, but its late... how do you like yourself chessnut brown??
Lol :-)
(hope you don't mind.)
Lol, nice one sorted. Should have thought to use his profile picture *duh* :)

*Grin* Yeah I couldn't resist - I also had versions in Shock Pink & Snotty Green (didn't post them.)
Actually one of these days I really must read up how to colour balance properly using photoshop, rather than just messing around with the Hue/Sat/Lightness settings at random.
I have to say I like the blonde only because it makes the hair appear very soft.
It's ok! Man I look really different! I don't know if I like it though. I still have a lot of thinking to do about it. Thanks! ~Peace~ Blonde
I think the brown is nicer than the blond on you mate, it's more noticeable and you can really appreciate the shape. :)
I think it's horrid.
Stay blonde, dude. You'll be glad you did.

Blonde,, you look a lot more different in chestnut brown than blonde! I think blonde actually suits you better, looks really cool on you IMO. Try and apply some natural highlightener I talked about on the new roots, so hopefully you should be able to keep your colour and blend in the dark brown so it becomes almost as blonde as your hair.
Why don't you put a few highlights in the regrowth of your hair to disguise the fact that you are growing your colour out? Just a few around the face and part would make a big difference and will not be as damaging as doing an all-over colour. Just make sure to use a high-lift blonde tint and NOT bleach. Also try shampooing less often (waaaaaaaaay less often) to get some moisture back into the coloured part.
