I read somewhere at another post that you can leave conditioner in your hair like oil. I did it for the past 2 days and worked like a charm. The small question I have is that one of the ingredients of conditioner is alcohol. Doesnt alcohol dry your hair which makes gel bad for you? Can leaving conditioner in your hair damage it?
sorta depends, Some conditioners are not meant to be in your hair for long periods of times, where as leave in conditioners are.
What you're looking for is a 'leave-in conditioner'. I use them and they are great. There are two I use regularly. Infusium-23 is a light conditioner that works best for me when my hair is a bit greasy (either I haven't washed my hair for a few days or I've used other styling products). Paul Mitchell 'The Conditioner' is a heavy-duty conditioner that I use right after I wash my hair. I have to be careful with it because if I use too much it make my hair greasy! (In fact I wrote on the bottle in large letters with a Sharpie marker 'pearl size' to remind myself to not use too much). A little daub on freshly washed hair gives me just the right amount of manageability and controls frizz. I've also tried L'Oreal Vive Serum (as part of their shampoo-conditioner-serum system). It left *my* hair a bit too slippery (which made styling difficult) but it has good potential and I'll try it again when my hair gets longer (at first Infusium-23 didn't do much for me either). The trick is to get recommendations for *your* hair type and try a few products until you find the ones that work for you. Good luck with your hair growth goals!
