I have rather wavy, dry, shoulder-blade length hair. Can someone tell me what the best type of brush is to use? I have been using a comb all these days. When I had short hair I used to use a plastic circular brush.
You could check out the Mason Pearson brushes. They're quite expensive though-about $60 american and up. Otherwise the ordinary plastic variety will do.

I was really referring to the shape, type of bristles, backing etc.
My favorite style of brush is the porcupine. You can get these at Wal Mart. They are a hybrid style, with white tines that stick out beyond the black bristles. The white tines detangle and the bristles smooth.
I've also heard good things about those brushes that look like a ball of tines. Never tried one though.
What kind of comb are you using? You should get one with thick, widely spaced teeth if you don't have one already.
Well, i prefer using the big wide ones with the thicker bristles. Kinda like the ones called "The Brush" only wooden.
