Dont get me wrong I love my hair its just that Im tired of it and dont know what to do with it anymore. I almost always wear it a ponytail. Its almost shoulder length so I cant braid it fully! Theres not many styles a man can sport b/c he'll be accused of being too femine. To top it off I dont get as many chicks as I did when I had short hair. Maybe they just dont go for that style anymore. But then again maybe I should just let it grow down to my shoulders because that was my desired length. Im also tired of friends pressuring me to cut it! I know if I cut it though Im gonna regret it! Though like I said before theres not much I can do with it and and I hate looking like a hippie.
PS: Anthony Keidis from RHCP cut his hair and he had really nice straight hair.
Maybe you could experiement with some different styles and accessories. If you wear what looks good to you, you might be surprised at what you can wear and get away with on your hair. Here is an article I wrote for the Hair Boutique last year. Maybe it will be of some help.

Don't cut it, I have had the same problem, I decided to let a stylist help me and she gave me long layers so that I had more options, as for looking fem the styles I am wearing tend to be on the fem side but since I started to wear my hair that way the chicks are flocking to me. I think most of them like the fact that my hair looks so nice when I wore it in a pony tail I had the same problem no one gave me the time of day. Go to a good stylist find a girl who likes long hair on a guy and she will help

Aw!!! Don't cut it!! Ok, so this is the opinion of a longhaired long hair loving chick,so I'm a bit biased. Everyone who is growing out their hair goes through that in between stage. If you can get past this stage to below shoulder length I think your hair will be easier to handle and allow more varied styles.
Maybe try doing a few different style each week.Ponytails are fine for work, but maybe a half-tail (like Liam Neeson's in Phantom Menace),that is a very sexy style on men. Also try some gels to smoothly hold your hair back off your face(not too much though!).Then there is always just loose, clean and free.
My favorite look is long and all one length, but if you want to try a long 'style',how about one like that kid on 'Seventh Heaven' or the guy on 'Boy Meets World'. Both Styles are about shoulder length, but with a bit of long layers for shape.
In any case, consider what your reasons were for growing it out in the first place.Maybe you just need to renew that commitment.Good luck :)
Hey, you don't look like a Hippy jsut because you have long hair.....
Hang in there! I'm trying to grow mine too, sometimes it gets quite frustrating. Mostly I have found that women like more and longer hair, for the same reasons listed on one of your responses. Hope this helps, even a little bit.

Think about the look that you wanted to achieve and keep that goal in mind. I'm sure that you already know the women fall into two camps regarding hair: some love it long and some love it short.
What kind of hair do you have? Thin and stringy, curly or full bodied, this makes a difference to your appearance and a consultation with a stylist will give you some good ideas on what to expect with different lengths for your hair type.
Also try letting your hair flow naturally without a ponytail once in a while. I have full bodied hair that I wear in a ponytail at work and when I'm not at work I let it all flow naturally. I enjoy the free flowing of my hair and it is also an invitation for women to come up and run their fingers through your hair. I definitely love that.
Good Luck
