I've really been hating how my hair is lately and I'nm thinking about cutting it,I really don't want to because having long hair is what I have wanted ofr a long time but the way it is right now is just too frustrating....
We all go through awkward phases that are incredibly frustrating. If long hair is really what you want, you'll never get there if you cut it when you get annoyed with your hair. Trust me, the frustration will be well worth it sooner than you think.
Hang in there!
Jeremy
Perhaps wear a hat more if possible.
Several more months of frustration (which might be controllable anyways) for eternal happiness....
Only my observation, but those who want Long Hair, are in the "Awkward Stage" as you are now and finally give-in and cut it greatly regret it afterwards.
The "Awkward Stage" is different for all of us..........but if you can kind of "wing-it" through the next 6-9 months and put up with the "look" your rewards will be great.
Think a L O N G Time before getting it sheared-off. Try different "styles" along the way..........anything to get through it.
I wish you the best of luck. Wish there was an easier way to get there.
The picture is of me at the height of my awkward stage. Take a look at my progress pictures (especially the 2003 archive that is at the bottom of the index on my progress pictures page). You'll see I went through a goofy awkward stage and that eventually it came to an end and I have long hair. Once I got out of the awkward stage it becamse a *lot* easier to style. It was almost like throwing a switch. One day I was in the awkward stage and the next my hair was on my shoulders and behaving. I encourage you to hang in there, but whatever you decide, good luck!
If you do decide to cut it, possibly try some things with it first, such as dyeing or dreading it
The awkward stage is a test of character. Patience is a virtue. Wait a few more months, and things'll get easier.

Hey Piotr
Don't cut it! Post a pic of the problem lets see if we can give you any advice on how to make things less frustrating. I know your much futher on than your profile pic so this is no time to give up, (you're doing too well!)
Believe me your not the only one who is frustrated at the moment, my hair is so wavy, its got more flips than a hamburger joint. Don't give up on your goal.
Exactly. I started regrowing my undercut a month ago. I'm missing the hair that was there so much, and of course when it's grown back it will mean extra length. When the highest point of my undercut reaches a certain level, I'm going to get my hair leveled off again, and be done with it and let it grow forever. I'm not giving up though, because I know that it'll be well worth it in the end.

Thanks guys,I don't think I'll cut it,but I was just having one of those days where my hair was really making me mad.
I was having that yesterday, a bad hair day. The day after my progress pics were taken for 6 months into growing, my hair developed this disgusting look, as if my hair had been heavily bleached. Of course, my hair has never been near bleach at all, but the top strands were looking a funny colour. I washed it thouroughly with shampoo and conditioner with a ACV rinse in between and it's gone. I guess it was just too greasy (which is very rare as I suffer from a dry scalp)
I'm glad you've come to your senses and decided not to cut, a lifetime of happiness for a couple of months of bad hair, you better off keeping it!.
Piotr, Glad to hear it, but seriously if your hair is really annoying you, before you cut it or even think about cutting it, post a pic. There's a lot of people going through exactly the same thing here, we might be able to help.
