What do you guys do with your side burns? Do you let them grow natural, buzz them or trim? Another question is the hair on the back of the neck that dont grow very long. If you wear a pony tail are you supposed to cut them? IF so how do you do it?
PS- When I was forced to get a trim the guy cut my freakin bangs. Without being stretched they used to reach to the bottom of the eye, now they are at eye brow level. Should I trim the rest of the hair or just leave it?
I buzz my sideburns..i kinda have an "undercut" only in the side burn areas and i also trim the bak hairs.
Also- Do girls also have side burns or do they grow so long that they mix in with the rest of the hair?
Back when I shaved my hairline to begin at the top of my ear I did remove the little sideburn that only goes down the top one third of my ear. On men that hair is more of a transition to whisker consistency but girls have just regualr head type hair in the same location but not as far down. Now that my hair there is allowed to grow it tries to blend in bent behind my ear but the short terminal length means it often sticks out sideways, though this could be due in part to the earpieces of my glasses in the way. The hair at the bottom of the sideburn only reaches the jawline but the other hairs lengthen nearer the top of my ear.

I experimented by letting the hair in front of my ears grow long enough to blend into my hair but I didn't like the way it curled up and over my ear. Now I *carefully* comb down and trim all the hairs in front of my ear and below the place where my ear attaches to my head. I trim them across, just above the middle of my ear. I advise you to experiment yourself and decide if you rather have them long or trimmed. The following link shows a hires side-view picture of me with my hair tied back. You can see how I trim the sideburns. I have very little actual sideburn hair so it doesn't extend down to blend into my beard!

I use a short extension on my clippers to trim them.
I pull my hair back that's just above my ear so as not to accidentally cut them while I'm trimming my 'burns.
I wear my sideburns to just above the bottom of my ear.
