Hi guys, I haven't really worried about this much till now....but my question is about the the hair above my sideburns, right in the area starting above my ears and going about an inch high. This hair seems to be almost like the straggly hair that's on the back of my neck but not QUITE that bad-I posted about that hair a few days ago and thanks again for the responses.
So anyway, this hair seems to grow a lot slower than the rest of my hair. After 10 months of growing, it still seems fairly thin and curly compared to the rest of my hair, which is just thick and wavy (but curly in the mornings). Anyone else have this problem? Like the hair on the back of my neck, it's only going to be a real problem when I tie my hair back, but I want to think ahead!
I'm guessing one could keep it short, but I don't want to have this undercut-like style. Or perhaps tie one's tail so that it slopes downwards toward the neck rather to cover up this hair, rather than tying towards the centre of the back of your head, in which case for me the hair in question still sticks out really frizzily.
Yikes, sorry for my long-winded posts (as always)...but does anyone else have this problem in the first place?
I have it right above my sideburns and I shave it off I dont know how you could consider that an under cut its like just right at the sideburn barely visible when shaved.
Thanks for the quick response
Actually, maybe I was wrong to call it an undercut-don't mind my slightly ignorant terminology :)
Mine might cover a larger area than yours but I'm not sure.....maybe I'll shave it like you, or perhaps just bask in the frizziness for a while, even after I'm able to tie my hair up in 4 or 5 months. Or perhaps my conditioner hasn't been reaching this area enough in the shower? err, so many questionse
I doubt it is due to conditionar mos the hairs in this area are like you said the short crappy hairs on your neck. You can cut them trimmed with scissors its not going to effect how your hair looks especially when it gets long. Your hair is going to be covering this area anyways. And if you do get them trimmed it will look better when pulled back into a pony tail.
I know exactly what you're talking about.
I actually wait for it to grow out a bit and then take scissors and trim it to about the middle of my ear. It's the only part of my hair that I cut, but it's really just hair that doesn't grow very long anyways. I usually grow the lower sideburn out to blend in with it too.
It really looks a lot better.
Are you sure you haven't shaved a bit of hair off by accident? Before I got my undercut, I used to accidently shave a little bit to close to that hair, and made each side shorter than what it should be. I'm now growing my undercut back, and am extra-careful about shaving too close.
