To describe my hair I would have to say "curly". Its a bit of an understatement but, no one even knows since I blow dry it and recently started straightening it. Over the summer I go swimming and was wondering if there is anything I can do, to no look like frodo baggins when I get out of the water.
Use KMS "Flat Out" it's a non-chemical flattening gel. I sell it on ebay. Look up my Seller's username: YouGotHair
You can also use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum and a ceramic flat iron.
I work in a salon and I'm growing my hair long now.

Dude, I basically have the same problem. And I love to swim. I make sure I get in all the quality swim time I can then, when my hair's weighted down with water, leap out of the pool and head for the towels and from there, make some lame excuse about needing to leave briefly but promising to meet my friends wherever they like. This gives me time to get home to straighten my hair somewhat. It's really awkward. I beg off as many swim parties (with friends) as I can, usually going early in the mornings alone to my gym or, in the summer, a pool. Some day when my hair's long enough to pull all the way back into a ponytail, I'm hoping can avoid having to leave after swimming. But the "curse" lives on, bro, and that's not much else you or I can do. I hope other guys chime in on this one--I need the answers as much as you. Hang in.....Josh
I have a second, but perhaps related, question.
As curly hair gets longer, will it tend to stay down more after air-drying in position from the weight of the water holding it down? I noticed that when it is short, it stays down OK but can quickly become an afro when it is dry. Do longhairs have to worry about this?
I like my wavy/curly hair. Have you tried the Frodo look as you suggested? It's a lot less work than all that straightening!
