Picture Purged
Not seeing much difference from month to month but I think something's happening. Got to be neat-looking when I start my teaching degree in Sept. and enter the schools so this hair better hurry up. If I pull the bangs down they reach to about a centimeter below the chin. Tried to smile but it was like a shark grin, need to get me some smiling lessons. Managed to get through my unversity graduation on Saturday without a hair hassle, surprised that my classmates who haven't seen me in several months made no comments (good or bad) about the hair growth. /shrug
Shaun
Well I think your hair looks awesome and I know you'll reach your goal soon! (I know this sounds freaky coming from a total stranger, sorry!) ~Peace~ Blonde
Your hair looks good. Just try to be patient, it will get long. Absalom
Looks good.
Shaun,
I think you will be fine. Congrats on the graduation and on entering teaching! I am a teacher, 44. I will begin my 16 year of teaching this August. I began growing my hair out in 2000 and found myself that spring in interviews for a new position at a rather conservative school. My hair was dead in the middle of the awkward stage. It is who you are that counts. Make every effort to be neat. I know that hair products are generally not recommended here because they can damage your hair, but using them sparingly but enough to keep hair in control a bit helps.
I was hired, and in the fall when I showed up to begin, I had enough length for a ponytail. You will be a hit with the students, and the talk of the faculty. That's okay as long as you are doing a good job at teaching. Your hair is much further along than mine was at the interviews. BTW, what field will you be teaching in?
Robert
Hi Robert, thanks for the post and for the tip on neatness. My best friend's mother is also a teacher, and she too stressed neatness and professionalism. Of course she suggested I do away with the long hair, and settle for something full bodied but compact and off my face. Ah, well. If I think I am looking good when my hair gets long enough to tie-back, then I will cross my fingers and not worry about it.
I will be teaching mathematics at the high school level, although grades 6-8 are not out of the question. I am Canadian and I will likely work in my home country, but I am also looking into the process of obtaining an H1-B visa to work in the shortage areas of the USA.
I think your hair looks great and it fits your face. You will look even better as it get longer. You're also in the perfect field for having long hair. Just my humble opinion of course.
Good luck on your journey.
ck.
Well, something IS happening. But because it's your own hair the results seem to take forever. The hair looks great! And about the teaching? There are 2 teachers in a High School in my town who both have Ponytails. They have been there for years. Also, more and more we see guys with Longer Hair everywhere. My "gut" feeling is that you won't have any problems. A few years ago I would have said the opposite.
Good luck and let it grow..............................!!!!!
Your hair looks shiny, moisturized and seems to be well behaved!
At this point, many guys would be experiencing all sorts of problems.
But you seem to one of those lucky ones who's hair
is tamed!
Good Luck on all of your future goals!
Well there's certainly progress and its looking good.
Great Progress
PS: Congrats on the graduation and good luck with the teaching course
Great progress, congratulations. You're doing well and the longer hair suits you. Maybe your classmates didn't notice because the longer hair looks so natural on you. Thanks for the update. Good luck with your hair length goals.
Wow your hair is wel cool and looks very healthy what shampoo do you use ??
Thanks Ben, I currently just use a knock off brand from Walmart called Equate, it is a shampoo that is like herbal essences and I use herbal essences conditioner, nothing fancy. I didn't buy the Equate myself, it is just the only shampoo my mother had in her shower when I moved home from university. I wash my hair about every other day.
It is nice to get some positive feedback once in a while :)
