I can't deal with thick, light hair over the muggy summers we get where I live. I need a summer haircut, but I don't want to cut all of it(3 years worth =) off...
I'm thinking of going with the typical "shaved in the back" style, but I didn't know if anthere were other hairstyles that would thin out my pesky hair and still look good. Its really curly, so I can't wear it semi-long(at least not without using all kinds of jelly-crap)
I'm more worried about convenience than appearances... I've always looked a little eccentric, and I've learned to enjoy it.
=) I apreciate anyone who can assist me in this manner!
well...... wear a hat with a fan on it then!!! seriously. well. eccentric but mostly serious.

Sheesh, how about just tying it into a tight bun at the crown or just above the neck. Just as cool as short hair but with less scissors.
I feel your pain when it comes to the heat. I've got a hyperactive metabolism which means I'm overheating in all but the most fridged conditions. But let me ask you...how did you make it 3 years (3 summers) and only now decide you need a summer cut?
Just think about the fall, winter, and spring... how nice long hair will be then.
But let me ask you...how did you make it 3 years (3 summers) and only now decide you need a summer cut?
Good point PaleHunter. I am in wonderment of the same question.
... I just dealt with it... but now that I know what a hassle I'm getting into taking care of my hair over the summer, I feal a cut is nescesary.
Thanks to everyone for their responce!
I really think that the key to keeping cool during the summer is getting the stuff off of the neck--you lose a lot of heat there. I ordered a hair glove, and I'm hoping that will do the trick this summer.

Have you tried a ponytail?
What I usually do is tie it in a pony tail and sometimes
wet the entire hair. Keeps me cool for a while.
The boss hasn't complained yet, if he does i'll just
say why don't you fix the AC in here?
