Ive been growing my hair out for several months now, and have developed a problem with acne on my forhead, brows, and temples. I have tried many things to get rid of them, but they are very hard to get rid of. I will try to post a pic when I get home, but to describe the situation, most of the 'pimples' are under the skin, they dont swell, or turn red, but what was once a mostly clear face has become bump covered. I wash my hair once a day with dove s&c (seperate bottles). I wash my hands many times a day. I was using a face scrub and cleanser daily, but have cut back as I have read that it can cause the face to produce more oils. I rinse my face usually at least three times a day (just water and clean towel). I was using clyndamiacin (sp?), a prescription, it seems to help but cant fully rid of the blemishes. I was on a men's suppliment for a month, but I stopped taking it because I was also advised that it may create extra horomones that may effect breakouts.
I have tried many remedies, but am still clueless. Any help or suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated.
Hi i have the same thing as you i think !! because i only get them on my forhead and they are really annoying arnt they, i dont have a clue how to get rid of them!! Oh one thing i would try to stop your skin getting greasy ( which i think causes the spots ) try stuff called tea tree face scrub or oil. I makes your facr really dry but i think it will help Good luck !!
Anyother help i would apresehate (sp)
Thanks
Since I could never afford facial scrubs, etc. I just washed twice daily with warm, soapy water. A few hours or so after washing, I'd scrub my face with standard Isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Did wonders for me. Once the hair gets long enough to go behind your ears, your acne should go away.
Parts of my face are sensitive to the development of spots, particularly around my temple area. It could be normal flat skin, but once touched a bit too hard, it raises and swells and really stings. But I've had this all my life.
What advice could I offer you? You seem not to have the raised spots as me, so I'd just say don't touch them.
You may be making yourself hypersensitive to bacteria by washing yourself clean many times a day and therefore, your face is so clean that it needs only the slightest contact to creat a swelling. Try cutting on your number of washings.
Well that's my thrupence worth :)
Yea I got it too on my forehead for a bit but Ive been using this stuff called Proactive and it works great.
I had similar effects when growing long hair in my late teens/early twenties, most notably on my back when my hair started to extend down it's length. My best results were washing with MILD soap and water 2 or 3 times a day to rid excess oil, and prescription Retin A and tetracycline.
Now, in my early 30's, I still have occassional flare ups, but over the counter cleansers and benzoyl peroxide pretty much do the trick.
here they are :(
I get stuff like that underneath my bandannas on my forehead if I don't wash the suckers. Others on here seem to also be saying it's old oil. I'd try taking a washcloth and wetting it with hot water, and then wiping down your forehead. That will remove all the oil already there. And before doing that, wash your bangs in hot water. You only have to wash your bangs that way, not your whole mane. That should keep old oil off your forehead.
I also have similar problems at the scruff of my neck. I just hold my mane up in the air against my head and run hot water on that area, letting the water run down my back. That seems to minimize the problem.
